Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This patio door has two outward-opening frames without glazing bars. Its pared-back design places the uninterrupted glazed areas centre stage, creating a clean, generous view for transitions intended to visibly connect indoor and outdoor spaces.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Clean double door

Two frames without glazing bars create a calm, uninterrupted glazed view. The clean design draws attention to the generous transparent areas and sits especially well with architecture defined by straight lines.

  2. Open feel

The two outward-opening door leaves create a generously proportioned passage. Without glazing bars, the design remains intentionally restrained, so the terrace, balcony or garden feels more visibly connected to the adjoining living space.

  3. High energy efficiency

Large glazed areas encourage a bright, welcoming atmosphere at the outdoor threshold. An energy-efficient design supports comfort while complementing this double patio door’s clear, contemporary character.

This patio door suits wide transitions where two outward-opening frames without glazing bars create a pared-back look. It links indoor and outdoor areas with an open, modern character, allowing the glazing to stand out without extra division. Two frames form a double door. The glazing remains free of bars.

This double-leaf patio door combines outward opening with a design tailored to your project. Choose the required size, colour and handle. It is available in pine or oak, with either timber option also offered with aluminium cladding. Named designs with glazing bars or a panel let you specify the glass and solid-area layout for the appearance you want.

In daily use, the door leaves open outwards. As well as appearance, allow for the opening, required swing space and the surroundings of the door. Choose either double- or triple-glazed insulated units with heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. Read on for details of operation, construction, glazing, design options and the information needed for a clear enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

Both door leaves open outwards, moving away from the room. Allow sufficient clear space outside for their swing in everyday use. The double-leaf construction can also be made asymmetrical where the intended overall size meets the applicable size requirements. This lets you consider opening direction, leaf division and available space together at an early stage.

When closing, guide the leaves carefully into the closed position and operate the handle to suit the fitted locking system. Hardware includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA fittings with 3-point locking. The handle is selectable and can be coordinated with size, material, colour and design. We can confirm the handle options available for your chosen configuration when you enquire.

With a double-leaf patio door, leaf division and the opening area shape everyday use. Consider how often the doorway will be used, which routes between indoors and outdoors should remain clear, and whether furniture, planters or other items could extend into the swing area. This practical review helps match the size and specification to the space.

Operate the door leaves smoothly and do not allow them to strike nearby objects. Visible dirt on the handle, frame or glass can be removed with gentle care suitable for the selected finish. Take account of whether you chose pine, oak or aluminium cladding, and use only care products suitable for the relevant timber, aluminium and painted finish.

02

Construction and specified component dimensions

The patio door is offered in pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. The timber outer frame has a component dimension of 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer frame component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. The door leaf is specified as 76 × 78 mm with or without aluminium cladding. These figures refer to individual components, not the overall depth, width or height of the complete patio door.

Installation holes are specified as 14 mm. This construction detail does not replace determining the required overall size. A made-to-measure size option is available for the project. The ordered overall size, structural opening and stated component dimensions serve different purposes and must not be treated as the same measurement. In your enquiry, clearly identify what each measurement refers to.

For an asymmetrical double-leaf version, an overall minimum size of 1080 mm gives a starting inactive-leaf size of 381 mm. At larger overall sizes, the division increases proportionally at a 2:1 ratio, with the narrower leaf representing one part. This requirement applies only to the asymmetrical configuration. State the required overall size and clearly confirm that an asymmetrical version is intended.

Hardware includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA fittings with 3-point locking. The patio door is CE marked and supplied with a five-year guarantee. For your individual configuration, select the required size, pine or oak, optional aluminium cladding, double- or triple-glazed insulated units, the preferred bar or panel design, colour and handle.

03

Glazing and glass construction

Choose double- or triple-glazed insulated units. The glazing includes a heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. State the preferred number of panes together with the remaining product features in your enquiry.

The glazing seals are black rubber. In the complete view, they work with the frame, leaves, glazing and selected surface layout. When assessing the design, consider the material, colour, bar pattern and, where relevant, panel as one coordinated composition rather than judging a single detail alone.

Depending on the design, the patio door can include a panel, creating a composition of glazed and unglazed areas. Available options include a panel without extra bars, versions with two or three horizontal bars, and a design with a panel, two horizontal bars and one vertical bar. Quote the complete design name in your enquiry so the required layout can be identified clearly.

Fully glazed designs are available without bars or with one, two, three or four horizontal glazing bars. These bars organise the glass areas according to the selected pattern. Panel designs use horizontal bars or combined horizontal and vertical bars. For a considered scheme, align their lines with neighbouring windows, doors or façade elements.

For glass with minimal division, choose the design with two frames and no bars. A more structured appearance comes from horizontal glazing bars or the combined bar patterns in panel versions. Record the chosen glazing and the complete design name as separate details in your enquiry.

04

Named designs and surface layouts

The “2 frames without bars” design has no additional division from bars and places the glass areas in focus. It suits a restrained, clearly arranged door elevation. The final effect depends on the ordered overall size, leaf division, selected frame material and colour.

Several levels of horizontal division are available: “2 door leaves with 1 horizontal glazing bar”, “2 frames with 2 horizontal glazing bars”, “2 frames with 3 horizontal glazing bars” and “2 frames with 4 horizontal glazing bars”. Choose between a single division and a more structured grid. It is worth comparing these lines with adjacent windows, doors or façade areas.

To combine glazed and unglazed areas, choose from “2 door leaves with panel”, “2 door leaves with panel and 2 horizontal bars” and “2 door leaves with panel and 3 horizontal bars”. More horizontal bars create a more divided appearance. You can then set the colour, material specification and glazing to suit your preferred composition.

The design “2 door leaves with panel, 2 horizontal and 1 vertical bar” adds vertical division. It combines the panel with a mixed bar pattern, making it distinct from the purely horizontal versions. Using the complete design name is particularly helpful so this option can be distinguished clearly from the other panel designs.

Compare the designs by how calm or detailed the door elevation should appear and how it fits the existing architecture. First choose between a fully glazed composition and a version with a panel. Then decide whether you want no bars, horizontal division, or the combined horizontal and vertical pattern. Include the complete design name, size, material, colour and glazing in your enquiry.

05

Assessing the intended opening correctly

A made-to-measure patio door should be planned from the actual installation situation. First note where the door will be located and which building surfaces define the intended opening. Distinguish in your notes between opening size, desired order size and other project details. Clear labelling avoids misunderstandings because component dimensions must not be equated with the overall door size.

As the leaves open outwards, include the exterior swing area in the plan. Check for steps, balustrades, walls, posts, furniture, planters and other elements that could obstruct opening. Also consider routes across the adjoining patio or outdoor area. This helps identify early whether the intended position and overall size suit how you will use the space.

If considering an asymmetrical version, state the planned overall size particularly carefully. From an overall minimum size of 1080 mm, the inactive leaf begins at 381 mm; at larger sizes the division develops proportionally at 2:1, with the narrower leaf representing one part. A clearly labelled project sketch showing the inside and outside can help explain the structural opening and adjoining areas.

Connections to the floor, wall and adjoining components also form part of the intended installation description. Tell us about known site features and mark measurements not yet finally checked as provisional. Consistently distinguish the structural opening size, desired order size and individual component dimensions. This keeps the first enquiry clear and unambiguous.

Finally, consider your usual route between inside and outside. The outward swing area should not unnecessarily obstruct frequently used paths or planned patio furniture. Include seasonally placed items such as planters or outdoor furniture in this review. The more accurately you describe the space, the better the required size can be assessed against the intended use.

06

Colour, material and visual composition

Colour is one of the selectable features of this patio door. In your enquiry, state your preferred colour direction and list the required material specification separately. This allows pine or oak, optional aluminium cladding and colour to be coordinated as individual parts of your configuration.

Clearly state the timber species and any required aluminium cladding in your enquiry. Choose pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding. This precise description makes identification easier, especially when you are enquiring about several doors or additional elements. Then add the required colour.

The bar pattern shapes the surface order of the patio door. Without bars, the glazing is less divided, while horizontal glazing bars create an increasingly structured grid. The combined panel design adds a vertical bar to the horizontal lines. A panel also creates an unglazed section. This lets you move from a quiet glass view to a clearly structured composition.

You can coordinate the door with lines already present in the project, such as visible divisions in neighbouring elements. From your own viewpoint, consider whether you prefer a calm or more structured composition. Include the required overall size and, for an asymmetrical version, the leaf division in this assessment. Always give the complete name of the chosen design.

The handle is also part of the visible overall design. Tell us the design direction you prefer so handles available for your exact door specification can be coordinated with colour, timber species and any aluminium cladding. Together with the bar or panel design, the handle completes the individual configuration.

07

Related door, sidelight and window types

Where your project includes several openings, it can help to consider different product types separately. An “outward-opening external door” is a different door type from this double-leaf patio door. “Sliding doors” and “outward-opening folding doors” are also separate product types in the range.

For a fixed-glazed side addition, the “single glazed door sidelight” is a separate product type. The “outward-opening entrance door with panel” is another distinct solution for a different use. If several elements are planned for the same project, list each product type separately with its complete name, required size and design requirements.

“Internal doors with panel” are also related product types, but serve a different purpose from an outward-opening patio door. For fixed-glazed window openings, choose “fixed-glazed windows” or “fixed-glazed round windows”. Neither window type opens, and each can be planned separately by size, material and colour within an overall design scheme.

A shared design plan can follow your preferred colours, materials and lines. However, this does not create an automatic compatibility assurance between different product types. Tell us which elements are required individually and which are only part of the same visual plan, so every product remains clearly identified in its own right.

Below are related products to compare for further openings and design requirements: Outward-opening external door, Sliding doors, Outward-opening folding doors, Single glazed door sidelight, Outward-opening entrance door with panel, Internal doors with panel, Fixed-glazed windows, Fixed-glazed round windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry step by step

Begin with the intended location and required size. Label every measurement clearly and state whether it is the structural opening size, a provisional project size or the desired order size. Also describe the available exterior swing area and any obstructions or adjoining components that may matter when planning outward-opening leaves.

Then choose the material specification: pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding. Add the desired colour as a separate choice and describe it as specifically as possible rather than relying only on a general style term.

Next, define the glazing and surface design. Specify double- or triple-glazed insulated units and use the complete design name where possible. State explicitly if a panel is required. This keeps glazing construction, bar pattern and panel composition understandable as separate details.

Then add your handle preference. Describe the preferred design direction and coordinate the handle with timber species, any aluminium cladding and colour. The handle selection available for your particular configuration can then be agreed as part of the enquiry.

Finally, check that your summary uses clear terms: location, measurement reference, required symmetrical or asymmetrical version, material, aluminium cladding, colour, double- or triple-glazed insulated units, complete design name, panel and handle. If you are enquiring about several doors, sidelights or windows, list every element separately. A short, ordered summary makes it easier to identify every required feature for each product.
