Bloomcabin Smooth panel. This smooth panel creates an internal panelled door with a consistently pared-back look. Its closed, unbroken surface sits discreetly within the interior and makes a clear connection between rooms without dominating the furnishing scheme.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Simple surface design

The smooth panel creates a closed, understated door surface without extra divisions. Its restrained design lets rooms feel calm while allowing the overall interior design to take centre stage.

  2. Minimalist without glass

Without glazing or decorative recessed panels, the appearance remains deliberately minimalist. The smooth surface provides a clear basis for individual configuration and supports a consistent interior scheme.

  3. High energy efficiency

This internal door can contribute to comfortable living between adjoining rooms. Enclosed spaces can be enjoyed cosily and incorporated into a considered energy concept.

This internal panelled door suits rooms where a calm, unobtrusive appearance is preferred. The smooth panel fits easily into varied living areas and clean interior schemes. Smooth panel: its balanced proportions help coordinate the design with the architecture and the intended character of the room. When selecting it, consider the proportions, wall layout and desired overall effect together.

Made to measure

Panelled internal doors combine a defined construction with flexible options for your interior scheme. The made-to-measure leaf can be hinged on the left or right. Choose from smooth panels, cassette, profiled and routed designs, including styles with rectangular glass elements. You can also coordinate the colour and handle with your décor. The result is an internal door suited to the opening and the look you want in the room.

The door leaf and frame are made from pine. Its MDF door panel contains a centrally positioned aluminium sheet and anti-warping bars. Designs with glass use a 2- or 3-pane insulated glass unit. This page explains handing, component dimensions, glazing and the available door designs. It also outlines the details that help prepare an enquiry and how to coordinate the design, colour and handle.

01

Operation and everyday use

The door leaf can be hinged on either the right or left. This choice determines the hinge side and the direction in which the leaf operates. Always state the handing from a clearly identified viewing direction. A labelled sketch or wording such as “viewed from the hallway” makes your requirement clear. Consider not only your usual movement, but also how the adjoining rooms are used and furnished.

In everyday use, the handle, handing and door design work together. As a handle choice is available, you can decide whether it should sit discreetly against the panel or provide a deliberate accent. KFV fittings form part of the door’s construction. Your handle choice, however, coordinates the appearance and does not alter the selected door type.

To create a comfortable routine, it can help to imagine typical routes through the room. If you often enter carrying items, your preferred operating side may differ from that for an infrequently used side room. The position of regularly used switches, furniture or hallway storage can also influence the decision. Include these everyday situations when choosing the handing.

Where several doors are planned, assess operation for each opening individually. A consistent design can visually connect rooms, while the suitable handing depends on circulation, furnishings and use in each case. Handles may also be repeated or deliberately varied. Record these choices for every door so that the handing, design, colour and handle remain clearly assigned to the relevant opening.

02

Construction, components and dimensions

The internal door has a pine frame with component dimensions of 68 × 60 mm. The pine door leaf is specified as 45 mm. Inside is an MDF door panel with a centrally positioned aluminium sheet and anti-warping bars. The aluminium sheet is integrated into the panel construction.

Installation holes of 14 mm are specified, and the fittings are by KFV. These dimensions apply only to the expressly stated components and must not be read as the total width, height or depth of the internal door. The required overall size is matched to the intended opening during made-to-measure production. Carefully measured opening dimensions and a clear installation description are therefore important for your enquiry.

Versions with glass use a 2- or 3-pane insulated glass unit. It has a heat-reflective coating, a CHR warm-edge spacer and argon-gas filling. The glazing is sealed with silicone. These details apply only to designs with glass; closed panel, cassette and routed designs do not include the described glazed opening.

The internal door is CE marked and has a five-year guarantee. To configure it, select the size, right- or left-hand hinging, one of the available designs, colour and handle. If you want a glazed door design, identify that design clearly as well. This brings the door’s technical essentials and your individual styling decisions together clearly.

03

Glazing as part of the door design

Glass is a visible feature of designs identified accordingly. Options include a smooth panel with narrow rectangular glass and a smooth panel with a rectangular glazed opening. Both designs use a rectangular form, yet remain distinct styles. The effect of each glass element in the room depends, among other things, on the chosen colour, surrounding surfaces and viewing direction.

When planning, distinguish between the shape of the glass element and the glazing build-up. The design name describes the visible door motif, whereas 2 or 3 panes describes the insulated glass unit. The shape of the opening therefore does not indicate the number of panes. Consider both points together so that your preferred door design and suitable glazing version are clearly captured in the enquiry.

First consider whether a glass element suits the connection you want between adjoining indoor areas. If the door leaf should read mainly as a closed surface, choose a panel, cassette or routed design without glass. If you want glass as part of the design, select one of the two rectangular glass motifs. Base the choice on room use and the visual separation you require.

State the full design name in your enquiry when choosing a glazed version. The general description “with glass” is insufficient to distinguish a smooth panel with narrow rectangular glass from a smooth panel with a rectangular glazed opening. Add your colour and handle preferences so the glass element can be considered as part of the overall door design. This keeps the styling and technical glazing specification clearly aligned.

04

Overview of the named designs

The smooth panel is the calmest of the named designs. Its surface is not divided by a glazed opening, cassette or routing. It is a useful starting point if you prefer a restrained door appearance. The smooth panel with narrow rectangular glass adds a clearly defined glass element. The smooth panel with a rectangular glazed opening creates another rectangular glass feature.

The smooth panel with rectangular cassette remains a closed panel design, with a rectangular cassette as its defining motif. The profiled panel with horizontal and vertical lines offers a more linear expression. The combination of both line directions defines its pattern. Compare these options according to whether you prefer a calm surface, one rectangular division or a more pronounced linear design.

Routed options include the profiled panel with three rectangular routings and the profiled panel with four rectangular routings. There is also a profiled panel with two horizontal and two vertical rectangular routings, whose name expressly identifies the orientation of the elements. The profiled panel with one square and one rectangular routing combines two basic forms. State the complete preferred version in your enquiry so the door design can be identified without ambiguity.

Do not choose solely from the door viewed on its own. If horizontal lines, tall rectangular forms or square motifs recur in the room, a matching panel can echo that language. In a highly detailed interior, a smooth design may appear more understated. In a simple setting, a profiled panel or routing can create stronger definition. These considerations help compose the room but do not change the internal door’s material or construction.

05

Assessing the intended opening correctly

As the internal door is offered made to measure, preparation starts with the actual opening. Do not check only one measuring point. Walls, floor build-up and adjoining linings can affect which details matter for manufacture. Note whether surfaces are already finished or may change through further work. A labelled sketch can show where measurements were taken and which side is used as the reference.

Then consider the door leaf’s movement area. This concerns opening clearance: furniture, fixed joinery, radiators, switches, lights and projecting components should all be allowed for in your planning. Check the entire swing path, not only the final position. An item that is unproblematic when the door is closed may obstruct its movement. There is no universal minimum area; your specific room layout is decisive.

You can now compare the desired left or right handing with usual circulation routes. Consider both adjoining rooms. A handing that seems practical from one side may meet furniture or a frequently used path on the other. If the room is likely to be furnished differently later, include this planned use in your decision as well.

Finally, document visible features of the opening and adjoining surfaces. These may include differing wall finishes, skirting boards or floor transitions. Photos and a simple sketch can usefully support your dimensions. Keep measured values separate from styling preferences: dimensions and building conditions describe the site, while handing, design, colour and handle define the selected door version.

06

Colour and visual composition

You can choose a colour for this internal door to coordinate the effect of the leaf with your interior. A related shade can blend the door more closely into the wall scheme, while a stronger contrast makes it a distinct feature. Include floors, skirting boards, furniture and other timber elements in your consideration. Colour affects the door’s appearance; the basic material of leaf and frame remains pine.

On a smooth panel, colour sits across a largely calm surface. Cassettes, profiled panels and rectangular routings create a visibly divided design, so the same colour choice can look different depending on the style. Decide first whether the door design should be quiet or more distinctive, then coordinate the colour accordingly. Surrounding wall and floor surfaces should also form part of this assessment.

The handle completes the visual composition and can either blend discreetly into the door design or contrast with the surface. Tell us which style you prefer and which visible details already exist in the room. Repeated handles can connect several doors visually, while a deliberately contrasting handle can highlight one door. The final selection is made alongside the preferred colour and design.

For a version with glass, include the glazed opening in the colour and handle choice too. In a hallway with several doors, a repeated combination of design, colour and handle can create a calm overall appearance. A single door, by contrast, can be styled as a deliberate accent. Provide the complete design name, preferred colour and handle preference together so all visible elements can be coordinated as one.

07

Suitable solutions for other openings

If your project includes terrace access as well as internal doors, compare single- and double-leaf options with inward- or outward-opening leaves. A single outward-opening option in a historic style is also available. These patio doors are separate products with their own materials, component dimensions, glazing and fittings. Plan them separately from the internal door described here.

For openings where sideways movement is wanted, the related range also includes a sliding-door solution. Its leaf moves sideways, whereas the single- and double-leaf patio doors are hinged versions. This fundamental difference helps narrow down the appropriate product type for each opening. Compare dimensions, materials, glazing and other specifications on the relevant product page afterwards.

For areas where no opening leaf is required, fixed-glazed windows are also available. Alongside a straight-sided version, there is a round fixed-glazed window. Neither product type opens, and both are offered with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. They fulfil a different purpose from an operable internal or patio door and should be recorded as separate items in the project.

First assign the appropriate product type to each opening, then note the decisions separately. For the internal door, size, handing, design, colour and handle are especially relevant. Patio doors, sliding doors and fixed-glazed windows each have their own versions and specifications. The related solutions below show their full product names, allowing you to open the right page for every planned opening.

Single inward-opening patio door, Double inward-opening patio door, Patio Life lift-and-slide doors, Single outward-opening patio door, Single outward-opening historic-style patio door, Double outward-opening patio door, Fixed-glazed window, Round fixed-glazed window.

Prepare your enquiry step by step

Start with the clear product name “Panelled internal doors”. Assign the door to a specific room or labelled position in your project. Where several doors are planned, give each opening its own identifier. This keeps differing requirements clearly separate, without assuming that similar room descriptions require identical versions.

Next, record the measured dimensions and describe the state of adjoining components. Add the required handing and state the viewing direction from which you determine left or right. Then choose the exact name of the desired design. For a design with glass, use the complete name so narrow rectangular glass and a rectangular glazed opening are not confused.

Add your preferred colour and handle. If you have not yet made a specific choice, describe the visual effect you want and the materials already present in the room. A photo of the adjacent wall, floor or existing handles can clarify the design context and make it easier to coordinate the design, colour and handle.

Finally, check that your notes are clearly assigned. Measurements, viewing direction and handing should be unambiguous, and it is best to use the full design name. A clear order simplifies handling: product and position, opening dimensions, handing, design, glazing where applicable, colour, handle and additional notes about the interior. This gives us a clear picture of your project so we can configure your made-to-measure internal door with you.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about panelled internal doors

Is the internal door made to measure?

Yes. The internal door is offered made to measure. For an unambiguous enquiry, we need carefully measured dimensions of the intended opening and details of the installation situation. Assumed standard dimensions should not replace checking the specific project.

Can I choose right- or left-hand hinging?

The door leaf can be selected with right- or left-hand hinging. The decisive point is the viewing direction from which you determine the handing. State in your enquiry from which side of the room your description applies so it can be understood clearly.

Can I coordinate the internal door colour with my room?

Yes, a colour choice is available for the internal door. Tell us your preferred colour as precisely as possible, considering adjoining walls, floors, skirting boards, furniture and other timber elements. The door can then blend quietly into the interior scheme or become a deliberate contrast.

Can I choose the door handle?

Yes, you can choose a handle. Consider whether it should blend discreetly into the door design or create a visible accent. Details about your preferred style and existing handles or room features help coordinate the choice with the door’s design and colour.

Is this internal door also available with glass?

Yes. Alongside closed panel and cassette designs, named options with narrow rectangular glass or a rectangular glazed opening are available. Versions with glass use the specified insulated glass unit with silicone seals.

How is the door panel constructed?

The door leaf panel is made from MDF. A centrally positioned aluminium sheet and anti-warping bars are included within it. The door leaf and frame are pine. The aluminium sheet is integrated into the panel’s internal construction.

Is the internal door CE marked and guaranteed?

Yes. The internal door is CE marked and has a five-year guarantee.

What details should I prepare for an enquiry?

Useful details include the measured opening dimensions, desired handing, preferred design name, and information about colour, handle and glass where applicable. Add a short description of the room and adjoining components if these influence the selection.
