This single-sash window combines a clean, one-sash design with inward opening and an additional tilt function. It suits projects where you want to match the operating style, frame material and glazing precisely to the window opening. Made-to-measure production allows the selected version to be tailored to your project-specific dimensions.

Choose pine or oak, with both timbers also available with aluminium cladding. You can also select double or triple glazing, decorative glazing-bar patterns, colours and handles. This makes it possible to coordinate the window functionally and visually within a considered window scheme.

This page explains operation, component construction, glazing and available design patterns. It also outlines the details helpful for an enquiry and how this inward-opening single-sash window differs from related windows, fixed glazing and patio doors in our range.

01

Open inwards and tilt with ease

The window has one movable sash that opens inwards and can also tilt. This lets you choose the operating position that suits everyday use without managing several sashes. Unlike fixed glazing, this model can be opened; unlike outward-opening windows, it moves into the room. When planning, consider the position of the sill, furniture and nearby items. A drawing showing the intended furniture makes this spatial relationship clear before visible details are chosen.

Because the sash opens inwards, allow a suitable clear area on the room side. Check whether a sill, furniture, decorations or other objects could obstruct it. A clear space directly beside the window is also useful for the tilt position. This is not a universal room-layout rule, but a consideration for the actual use of the intended installation location. Careful planning makes both functions easier to use as you wish.

With one sash, operation centres on a single window element. Consider who will use it regularly and from where the handle will be reached. A worktop or deep table in front of the window can affect access, even when the swing area is generally clear. Mentally walk through the usual movement in the furnished room. This practical view links the window choice to your routines and supports a coherent room layout.

02

Timbers, aluminium cladding and components

Four material versions are available: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. You can therefore choose an all-timber window or a version combining the selected timber with aluminium cladding. Base the decision on the desired material character and its visual relationship with other project windows or doors. Pine and oak remain clearly defined, separate options.

The window is fitted with Roto Frank hardware and silicone glazing seals. Installation holes have a diameter of 14 mm, and the product is CE marked. Consider the hardware part of the construction and the chosen handle an additional operating detail. This supports an orderly comparison with other windows. You can ask specifically about available handle options while the model’s other technical characteristics remain clearly identified. A complete product decision includes both aspects.

The outer frame measures 78 × 82 mm; with aluminium cladding, the stated size is 90.6 × 82 mm. The sash frame has the same dimensions: 78 × 82 mm, or 90.6 × 82 mm with aluminium cladding. These component dimensions differ from the ordering dimensions of the complete window. Record the selected version alongside its relevant values. This makes clear which component sizes apply to the all-timber version and which to the clad option.

03

Choose insulated glazing for your project

Choose between double and triple glazing. Both versions include a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer (CHR) and argon-gas filling. Match the number of panes to your building project requirements and consider the whole window element. For renovation work, include the scope of other work: will neighbouring windows be replaced or retained? This places the glazing choice within a connected project rather than judging it from one product view alone.

The glass creates a visual connection in both directions. Alongside the outlook, consider which parts of the room should be visible from outside. A garden path near the window creates a different situation from a more distant, inaccessible outdoor area. If curtains or other room-furnishing solutions are planned, allow for their space early on. This connects the desired openness with how you use the room. A well-considered window position accounts for daylight, outlook and personal privacy.

At an existing opening, observe daylight throughout the day as well. A wall may be bright in the morning and shaded later, changing how the glass and frame are perceived. This observation helps assess the new window in the room. A workspace may require a different view than a seating area. Base the decision on the places people actually use, rather than only on an evenly lit product image.

04

Decorative glazing-bar patterns for different façades

The cleanest option is a sash without decorative glazing bars. Named patterns are also available with one horizontal or one vertical bar. For division in both directions, choose a pattern with one horizontal and one vertical bar. These versions create different visual accents within the same single-sash window type, depending on whether you prefer a calm glass surface or a more divided appearance.

For a more structured view, patterns with two, three or four horizontal bars combined with one vertical bar are available. There is also a design with one horizontal and two vertical bars. Together with the simpler options, this offers a choice from an uninterrupted appearance through single horizontal or vertical accents to division in both directions. State the preferred horizontal and vertical bar combination as precisely as possible in your enquiry. This keeps the pattern distinct from window dimensions, colour and material version.

Assess glazing bars in a view of the complete façade. Repeated patterns can link a run of windows, while a different element can emphasise a special position. Decide what relationship to the building you want. The number of lines alone does not make a window more modern or more traditional. What matters is how the pattern works with wall surfaces and neighbouring openings. Compare a few convincing options in the same format so the different divisions remain clear and other changes do not distract.

The glazing-bar pattern also affects the view from a fixed seat. Imagine looking through the closed pane from a desk or dining table. A horizontal division can be more noticeable there than in an exterior façade view. If an uninterrupted view of a tree or particular garden area matters, compare an option without glazing bars. Where a consistent façade design is the priority, existing divisions in adjacent windows may matter more. Use both viewpoints to choose the effect you want to experience every day.

05

Plan made-to-measure dimensions and opening space

This window is offered made to measure. Record width and height with a clear reference, and distinguish opening dimensions from desired window dimensions. In an existing opening, variations at different measuring points should remain visible. A labelled sketch shows these relationships better than a single row of figures. Also state the viewing direction. For several windows, short position names help assign drawings to the correct location. This creates a clear basis for confirming the required version.

At the planned location, remember that the single sash moves inwards and can also tilt. Check the proposed surrounding area in its real context of use. The depth of a sill or objects permanently placed near the window may be relevant. Make this assessment before finalising colour, handle and decorative details, because the suitable opening type is the foundation of a practical everyday choice.

If the room is being renovated, the plan should show the finished condition. New wall linings, an altered sill or added fittings can change the area around the opening. Mark which components remain and which will be added. The glass surface should remain accessible for later care. This extends planning of the sash area to access to the surfaces. A well-chosen position considers the window both in use and as a lasting room component.

Made-to-measure single-sash window with colour and handle options

06

Coordinate colour, handle and material character

Colour and handle can be selected and contribute differently to the overall impression. Frame colour defines the larger surround, while the handle creates a small visible accent. Consider which element should recede and which should stand out. A contrasting frame does not necessarily require a striking handle. Conversely, a deliberately contrasting detail can suit a restrained colour scheme. This balance gives the window view order and connects large surfaces with regularly noticed details.

Timber surfaces in the room can guide the desired material character. If flooring, doors and furniture already show different timber tones, choose a clear focus for the window. It need not create a separate link to every item. Relating it to a permanent building element can be more convincing than following changeable furniture. View the preferred version from inside and check the exterior too. The window is experienced against two different backgrounds and should be chosen deliberately for both.

The glazing-bar pattern changes the amount of visible frame line within the glass area. With stronger division, the chosen colour appears in more places. Always compare the colour idea on the preferred pattern, not only on an undivided example. If railings, joints or planting already create many exterior lines, a simpler design may feel calmer. Against a largely uninterrupted surface, a stronger grid can create an intentional rhythm. The relationship between window and surroundings is decisive.

Two separate views help when choosing colour: the individual opening in the room and the row of windows across the building. Inside, wall colour and furniture can determine a suitable tone; outside, render, cladding and neighbouring frames may be key. Compare a colour preference with the relevant surfaces in daylight where possible. A dark reveal makes a frame appear different from a light, directly lit wall. For a single replacement window, also decide whether it should blend in quietly or deliberately mark a change in the room design. Both can be achieved through a considered choice.

07

Compare related windows and doors sensibly

If no opening function is required, a fixed-glazed window is an alternative. It is also available in pine or oak, each with optional aluminium cladding, and with double or triple glazing. For a round non-opening design, fixed glazing in pine or oak is available. A combination window is another distinct product type, likewise offering pine, oak and their aluminium-clad versions, with two or three panes. The first choice is therefore whether you need this inward-opening, tilt-function single-sash window, non-opening glazing or a combination window.

For projects requiring an EI30 classification, two separate window models are available. The inward-opening version has a tilt-and-turn sash, is made from oak, and has Roto Frank hardware with double glazing. The outward-opening EI30 model is also oak but uses Spilka hardware and double glazing. There is also an outward-opening passive-house window called Super Low Uw. It is made from pine with a special thermal-insulating material and has triple glazing. Classification, material, glazing and opening direction therefore remain assigned to each model; the single-sash window presented here is a separate product choice.

Where the element is intended as access to a patio, outward-opening single-sash patio doors are the more suitable category. Choose a standard version in pine or oak, each also aluminium-clad, or a heritage-style version in pine or oak. Both door models offer double or triple glazing and may include a panel depending on the version. They differ from this window both as doors and through their outward opening. Begin comparison with the intended purpose, then choose material, glazing and design within the relevant product category.

EI30 fire-rated inward-opening window, EI30 fire-rated outward-opening pivot window, Super Low Uw outward-opening passive-house window, Combination window, Fixed-glazed window, Round fixed-glazed window, Single-sash outward-opening patio door, Heritage-style single-sash outward-opening patio door.

08

Prepare your window enquiry clearly and completely

For a specific enquiry, we need a clear summary of the version you want. For each window position, provide the project-specific dimensions, pine or oak, and either an all-timber version or the corresponding aluminium-clad option. Add the preferred double or triple glazing, named glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle. Where several windows are involved, each position should have a clear identification. A table or position-by-position list can help separate different dimensions and configurations. This lets us see at a glance which features belong together and where they are intended to be installed.

If your decision is still open, tell us your two preferred options and the key difference between them. You may want the new window to sit quietly within an existing room, or you may want to consciously change its appearance. A brief description of this aim helps us discuss the suitable available versions with you. You do not need to document every design route in detail. We answer product-related questions and help you find your way. This window has our five-year warranty for windows and doors. Keep your final selection with your order documents.
