Bloomcabin Without glazing bars. This vertical pivot window has an outward-opening sash and a particularly clean look without glazing bars. Its uninterrupted glazed view focuses on daylight, outlook and a contemporary effect across the façade.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Unbroken glazed area

The bar-free design draws attention to the large, calm expanse of glass. It gives this single-sash window a pared-back appearance that lets both the architecture and the view take centre stage.

  2. Single sash, outward opening

The single sash opens outwards, giving this vertical pivot window a clearly functional orientation. Its uninterrupted window surface feels uncluttered and light.

  3. High energy efficiency

A configuration tailored to your project can help create a pleasant indoor atmosphere. This window pairs a minimalist look with a strong focus on energy efficiency and comfortable everyday use.

Without glazing bars, this vertical pivot window with an outward-opening sash suits projects where an uninterrupted view is wanted. It works equally well on modern façades and in simply renewed window openings. Without glazing bars — balanced proportions make it easier to coordinate the design with the architecture and the intended façade effect. The window or door design can therefore sit harmoniously within modern, classic or carefully renovated buildings.

Design

Choice of colour, handle and muntins

This single-sash pivot window combines a clearly defined opening method with a highly adaptable design. Its sash turns on a vertical axis and opens outwards, giving it a distinctive character that can suit a restrained façade or a more articulated window composition.

Your window is made to measure, allowing you to coordinate the material, colour, handle, glazing build-up and one of the named muntin designs with your project. Pine and oak are both available with aluminium cladding. The insulating glass includes a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer and argon fill. Consider the intended opening, desired appearance and material effect together. The following sections cover everyday use, construction, glazing, the available designs and the key details for a well-prepared enquiry.

01

Everyday operation and care

The defining feature of this window is its single sash pivoting around a vertical axis. Rather than moving like a conventional side-hung sash, it turns and opens outwards. Allow for that movement from the outset when planning everyday use. The opening system is not freely configurable: it is a defined window type with one sash and a vertical pivot axis.

The handle is one of the features you can select for your configuration. Consider it both an operating element and a visible part of the window. The best handle design depends on your intended interior appearance, material choice and frame colour. The fittings include components by SPILKA and IPA; state your chosen handle separately in your enquiry.

For everyday use, operate the window smoothly and under control. Move the sash only with its designated handle; do not pull on the muntins, glass or frame. Keep its travel area clear, and use suitable care products on seals and coated or clad surfaces. Always follow care instructions for the material ordered, as timber and aluminium-clad finishes may require different treatment.

Where several people use the window, consistent operation via the designated handle is helpful. Keep the travel area of the outward-opening sash clear and allow for its turning movement around external components or objects. This helps the single-sash, vertical-pivot window remain suited to its planned installation position over time.

02

Construction and component dimensions at a glance

All numerical product specifications are collected here. The outer frame component measures 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the corresponding component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. The sash frame measures 76 × 65 mm; with aluminium cladding it measures 86 × 65 mm. These figures describe individual frame components, not the depth, width and height of the complete window, and do not replace project-specific order dimensions.

The mounting holes have a specified diameter of 14 mm. This dimension applies only to the holes and must not be confused with the order size or the dimensions of the wall opening. Choose either double- or triple-insulating glass. The window is CE marked and supplied with a five-year guarantee.

Available frame materials are pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak and oak with aluminium cladding. The cladding changes the stated component dimensions of the outer and sash frames. Your enquiry should therefore clearly confirm whether you want all-timber construction or aluminium cladding. This material decision belongs to the precise product specification and should be recorded alongside the order dimensions.

The fittings include components by SPILKA and IPA, while you select the handle for your configuration. The glazing seals are black rubber. For the intended window appearance, coordinate the material, any aluminium cladding, colour, glazing and muntin design. This considers the visible design features together while fittings and seals retain their respective functions within the window construction.

03

Glazing as a coordinated build-up

This pivot window is available with double or triple insulating glass. Both options are specified with a heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacer and argon fill. Together, these features form the intended glazing build-up. They should not be treated as separate decorative additions, but as elements of the glazing selected for your window.

Consider the choice between double and triple insulating glass as part of the building’s overall design. Use, adjoining components and the requirements of your project may affect the decision. If the design sets specific performance targets for the window, include them in your enquiry with the preferred glass build-up. This clearly associates the glazing selection with your project.

The visual result also deserves attention. An uninterrupted pane looks different from one with horizontal or vertical muntins. Select glazing and muntin design together rather than treating the pane as merely a technical sash infill. For true divided-light muntins, the division is expressly part of the named design; do not assume the same construction for other muntin descriptions without clarification.

For a coherent specification, choose the glazing and muntin pattern together. Glass without muntins appears calmer and more continuous, whereas horizontal or combined horizontal and vertical muntins create stronger subdivision. Then add the frame material, aluminium cladding and colour. This coordinated choice says more about the overall appearance than considering any one component alone.

04

Named muntin designs

Six named muntin designs are available: “No muntins”, “1 horizontal muntin”, “1 horizontal muntin and 1 vertical muntin”, “2 horizontal muntins and 1 vertical muntin”, “2 horizontal true divided-light muntins”, and “3 horizontal true divided-light muntins”. The range runs from an open glass appearance to a clearly divided window face. State the complete name of your preferred design in your enquiry.

“No muntins” leaves the glass view free of the named divisions. “1 horizontal muntin” adds one horizontal line. “1 horizontal muntin and 1 vertical muntin” extends the composition with a vertical line. “2 horizontal muntins and 1 vertical muntin” creates a more divided appearance. These descriptions concern the visible arrangement only and do not, by themselves, state additional technical properties.

For two designs, true divided-light construction is expressly included in the name: “2 horizontal true divided-light muntins” and “3 horizontal true divided-light muntins”. These variants therefore differ from the other muntin names. If the type of division matters to your project, copy the exact design name into your enquiry and coordinate it with the selected glazing build-up.

Choose the muntin pattern according to the desired proportions of the glass area and its relationship with neighbouring elements. A single horizontal line can create a calm division, while combined horizontal and vertical lines produce a more pronounced grid. This is a design assessment, not a promised effect in every installation. Record the full name of your chosen design to avoid confusion between similar-sounding patterns during specification.

05

Assessing the proposed opening correctly

Because this window is made to measure, a reliable enquiry begins with assessing the proposed building opening. Do not record just one measurement; check the opening at several points. Variations in existing construction can matter to planning. Order dimensions should be clearly labelled so that every figure has an unambiguous reference. Outer-frame and sash-frame component dimensions must not be used instead of wall-opening dimensions.

Also allow for the sash opening outwards and turning around a vertical axis. The external movement and clearance zone must suit the installation situation. Façade projections, reveals, railings, external shading, plants or other components can affect the usable space. These are project checks, not statements that any environment is generally suitable. The actual spatial conditions on site are decisive.

Also consider the operating position inside. The handle should be conveniently reachable for the room’s intended use, while the window layout should work with the planned furniture and room function. This does not set a particular installation height; determine that for the individual project. Show adjoining sills, worktops or other components on your sketch so the window’s position is clear.

For a new build, drawing dimensions can provide a useful starting point. In existing buildings, carefully survey the actual condition. If unsure, have the installation situation checked by a qualified professional. State clearly whether your enquiry gives opening dimensions, window dimensions or other reference values. A simple labelled sketch can identify the axis position, inside and outside, and adjoining elements without guessing technical details.

06

Material, colour and visual composition

Material selection shapes the window’s appearance both in detail and in relation to the façade. Choose pine or oak; both timbers are also available with aluminium cladding. You are therefore selecting more than a material name: you are deciding the visual composition of the frame surfaces. Mention aluminium cladding expressly in your enquiry because it is a distinct specification.

You may also choose the colour. State the desired shade as clearly as possible in your enquiry and coordinate it with the material, aluminium cladding and muntin pattern. Consider how it relates to the façade, roof, doors and other windows. This lets you plan either a restrained overall appearance or use the window as a deliberate design accent.

The muntin design also affects proportion. An open glass view highlights the continuous area, while horizontal and vertical lines organise the elevation. With colour and material, the same window can appear calmer or more articulated. Treat these features as a whole: first choose the desired frame effect, then the glass division, followed by a handle that fits the composition.

For materials, distinguish between all-timber construction and pine or oak with aluminium cladding. Record this choice explicitly, as clad versions have different component dimensions for the outer and sash frames. Add the desired colour and consider the selection with the glazing, muntin pattern and handle. The result is a clearly defined material and colour composition for your window.

When positioned alongside other opening elements, repeated lines can support a cohesive appearance. Compare muntin heights, frame effect and colour direction for the individual project, however; automatic matching with other product types is not assured. Record desired visual relationships in a short description or sketch rather than assuming similarly named products will have identical appearances.

07

Comparing related window types and doors

The key comparison point between related windows is the opening method. This model has one outward-opening sash with a vertical pivot axis. The range also includes single- and double-sash inward-opening tilt windows. They suit different operating and room situations, so they should not be selected solely because their frame or glass appearance is similar.

For projects requiring an EI30 product classification, separate fire-rated windows are available. These include an inward-opening oak version and an outward-opening oak fire-rated pivot window, each with double insulating glass and a heat-reflective coating. This classification belongs solely to the specifically designated products, not to the pivot window presented here.

Another option is the outward-opening passive-house window called Super Low Uw. It is made from pine with a special insulating material and has triple insulating glass with a heat-reflective coating, warm-edge spacer and argon fill. For larger or divided window arrangements, the combination window may also be relevant; its precise configuration is determined to suit the project.

If a low-level opening element is planned, related single-sash patio doors can be a useful comparison group. A regular version and a historic-style version are available, both opening outwards. Depending on the chosen design, glazing, muntins and a panel are provided. Windows and patio doors remain distinct products, with dimensions, materials and construction selected separately.

The related products appear below with their complete catalogue names. First compare opening direction, sash count and product type. Then check materials, glazing and available design options. This makes it easier to decide whether the single-sash pivot window, an inward-opening window, a specialist version, a combination window or a patio door best suits your project. 08

Prepare your enquiry in a few steps

Start with a clear product description: single-sash outward-opening pivot window with a vertical axis. Then add carefully recorded dimensions and label what they refer to. A simple sketch showing the inside and outside can prevent misunderstandings. If the opening is irregular or the connection details are complex, describe this briefly and arrange a professional check of the measurements where needed.

Next, select the material. Note pine or oak and state explicitly whether aluminium cladding is required. Add your preferred colour without relying only on broad descriptions such as light or dark. If you already have a precise colour designation, use it during specification. This keeps the intended frame appearance clear from the beginning.

Then choose the glazing build-up and copy the full name of the preferred muntin design. Exact wording is especially important for true divided-light versions. Add your handle selection as a separate item. You do not need to treat the fittings brands as a customer choice, as naming them does not create a choice of brand.

Finally, decide whether neighbouring windows or doors should form part of the visual plan. Describe any intended alignments or shared colour scheme, then summarise your selection clearly: product name, dimension with an unambiguous reference, material, aluminium cladding, colour, double or triple glazing, full muntin-design name and handle. Add relevant features of the opening or adjoining elements. A well-structured enquiry provides a sound basis for specifying your custom pivot window.
