Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This sliding door with two frames and no glazing bars creates a clean, generously proportioned view. Its pared-back design places the surfaces and frame outlines centre stage for a pleasingly contemporary appearance.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Two clean frames

Two frames shape the balanced overall appearance of this sliding door. Their defined outlines structure the surface without interrupting its calm, straight-lined effect.

  2. Deliberately without glazing bars

Without glazing bars, the design remains uncluttered and understated. Select the material and surface finish to complement the architecture and your preferred overall look.

  3. High energy efficiency

The energy-efficient construction supports comfortable living where indoors meets outdoors, contributing to a balanced and welcoming room atmosphere.

This sliding door is ideal for projects seeking a generously proportioned two-frame view without glazing bars and a deliberately pared-back architectural style. 2 frames without glazing bars — balanced proportions help align the design with the architecture and the desired impact of the façade. When choosing the configuration, consider the proportions, façade layout and overall visual effect together. This creates a calm, contemporary door design that puts the focus on the glazed surface and its clean frame lines.

Sliding doors combine generous glazing with clear sideways movement: the door leaf slides sideways to open and close. This operating principle is a distinct alternative to conventional hinged and tilt-and-turn doors, and can be deliberately incorporated into access planning. At Bloomcabin, you can order your sliding door made to measure and select key design features to suit your building or renovation project.

Choose from pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. You can also select 2- or 3-pane insulating glass, from the available glazing-bar patterns, a suitable colour and a handle. This allows the door to be tailored not only to the required dimensions, but also to the architectural look you want to achieve.

Below, you can learn how to operate and plan the sliding door, which construction and glazing are specified, and how the available two-frame designs differ. We also outline the information useful for a specific enquiry and when another door or window element from our range may be the more suitable choice.

01

Sideways sliding in everyday use

The defining feature of this door is its movement: the door leaf slides sideways when opened. Its operation therefore differs from that of a hinged door leaf. This distinction matters when choosing your door, as it affects how you use the access point each day and how the element is incorporated into the spatial design. The two-frame design describes the door’s appearance; sideways movement of the leaf is what determines operation.

A sliding door is particularly suitable for projects where a broad glazed appearance and calm horizontal operation are wanted. When designing, consider more than the opening itself: think about circulation routes, furniture and how adjoining spaces will be used together. Include these points early in your floor plan. Mark the intended location on the plan so the door can be assessed in relation to wall areas and transitions.

For everyday use, it is also important to consider who will mainly operate the door and how easily the handle can be reached. Since a handle can be selected, this detail can be included consciously in your decision. Consider the other handles on windows and doors so recurring shapes and finishes create a consistent appearance. Available handle options can be recorded alongside the other product choices in your enquiry.

The sliding door can be ordered made to measure. This makes it suitable for individual openings and coordinated new-build or renovation plans. Made to measure does not mean dimensions should be estimated: use clearly established project measurements as the starting point. Also mark the intended location and planned sideways movement of the door leaf in your project documents. This lets dimensions, use and design be considered together in your enquiry.

02

Timber types, aluminium cladding and component dimensions

For the material, choose between pine and oak. Both timber types are also available with aluminium cladding. This gives you four clearly defined material versions: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. Do not choose solely from one colour sample; consider the timber, colour choice and neighbouring elements as a whole. Especially where several doors or windows appear in one elevation, an early material decision supports a consistent design.

In the timber version, the outer frame measures 184 × 45 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer-frame dimension is 194 × 45 mm. The door leaf is specified as 112 × 68 mm without aluminium cladding and 122 × 68 mm with aluminium cladding. These names and dimensions relate to the stated components and should not be confused with the overall dimensions of the ordered sliding door during detailed planning.

GU hardware is specified. The installation holes have a diameter of 14 mm. The product carries CE marking. These details are particularly useful when coordinating the sliding door with other components in your project or passing product data clearly to those involved. Always use the full component names, so that, for example, an outer-frame dimension is not mistakenly read as a door-leaf dimension.

Aluminium cladding is an optional material version and changes the stated component dimensions. The decision should therefore not be considered separately from the rest of the planning. State clearly in an enquiry whether pine or oak is required and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. This makes the material version and corresponding profile details easy to identify, while colour, handle and glazing can be specified separately.

Timber sliding door with insulating glass

03

Insulating glass and glazing design

The sliding door is available with double- or triple-pane insulating glass. Both options have a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer (CHR) and argon filling. Black rubber is used for the glass seals. Consider the number of panes and glass seal together with the chosen glazing-bar pattern and frame version.

The choice between two and three panes should be made in the context of the whole project. Consider planned adjoining windows and doors as well as the requirements of your design. When several glazed elements are combined in one façade, a consistently documented selection is especially helpful. Do not simply note “insulating glass”; state clearly whether the 2- or 3-pane version is required.

The glass design also influences the overall appearance. A version without decorative glazing bars emphasises the continuous glazed effect. Dividing or decorative glazing bars give the surface stronger structure. Glazing type and glazing-bar pattern are separate decisions: first select the preferred insulating-glass version, then choose the visual division from the available patterns.

View the glazed areas from your usual seating position as well. If the door frames a garden view, a lightly divided design can make that outlook more prominent. If a balustrade or fence behind the door already creates many lines, compare its effect with the planned glazing bars. A simple overall view helps match the door design to its real background rather than judging the closed door only against a neutral surface.

04

Two-frame designs with and without glazing bars

The sliding doors are available in various two-frame designs. The calmest option has no decorative glazing bars. Other versions have one, two, three or four horizontal glass-dividing bars. These patterns structure the glazed view horizontally. The descriptions refer to the respective design of the glass areas and help you select the desired pattern clearly.

Further two-frame patterns are available for a decorative division. Choose two, three or four horizontal decorative glazing bars combined with one vertical decorative bar. There is also a version with two horizontal and two vertical decorative bars. The selection therefore ranges from an uninterrupted appearance to distinctly structured views, allowing you to choose the degree of division to suit the desired door elevation.

Which design fits best depends largely on the architecture around the door. Horizontal lines can visually echo existing façade joints, parapets or repeating divisions. Combinations of horizontal and vertical decorative glazing bars create a more structured view. Use these relationships as visual guidance, not as a fixed rule: the important point is which of the offered patterns fits your project convincingly.

When choosing, look beyond a small design image and imagine the glazing-bar pattern at the eventual size of the door. A pattern can look different depending on the overall format without changing its defined name or arrangement. Record the desired door dimensions first, then select the specific two-frame pattern. This allows format, glazed effect and linework to be assessed as a coherent design.

05

Preparing carefully for made-to-measure production

Our sliding doors are available made to measure. For a reliable product selection, you therefore need project-specific width and height dimensions in millimetres. Make sure it is clear what each measurement refers to. The profile dimensions for the outer frame and door leaf mentioned above do not replace order dimensions; they describe individual components. Keeping these details separate prevents misunderstandings when preparing your enquiry.

For renovations, it is worthwhile to record the full situation at the intended opening before finally choosing material and design. In a new build, details should match the current planning stage. If project dimensions change, use only the confirmed version for your enquiry. Note dimensions with their unit and avoid rounded estimates. This way, the requested made-to-measure door can be clearly linked to the remaining product choices.

Also consider the sliding door in the complete wall or façade elevation. The positions of neighbouring windows, sidelights, fixed glazing and other doors can affect which linework looks most convincing. A simple diagram with the element names and dimensions helps identify repeating heights or glazing-bar lines. Such drawings are for visual coordination and should remain clearly separate from the actual product specifications.

Include the sideways movement of the door leaf in your use plan. Review your floor plan to see how the access point will be used every day and how adjoining areas will be organised. Consider circulation routes, furniture and the location of other elements. Looking at the operating sequence early makes it easier to assess dimensions, handle choice and sliding-door position together.

Two-frame sliding door with glazing-bar design

06

Combining colour, handle and material harmoniously

Alongside made-to-measure production, a choice of colour and handle is available. These options allow the sliding door to suit an existing or newly developed design concept. Start with the fundamental choice between pine and oak and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. Colour and handle can then be assessed more purposefully, as both details always appear in relation to the frame material and large glazed area.

For a calm overall appearance, you can align the colour choice with neighbouring window and door frames. A deliberate contrast can instead make the sliding door stand out as its own architectural element. Both are possible design approaches; the key point is that the selection is made from the colours actually offered. With aluminium cladding, remember that this is already a distinct material version and should be clearly named in the enquiry.

The handle is a relatively small detail but one encountered every day. Match its selection to other visible fittings and handles in the project where a consistent appearance is wanted. The handle choice does not change the basic function: the door leaf slides sideways. Instead, it gives you another way to bring the operating point and visual details together within the available product options.

Glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle should not be chosen in isolation. An uninterrupted two-frame version looks different from a pattern with several horizontal and vertical decorative bars; the same frame colour can therefore be perceived differently in each version. Before enquiring, create a short order of priorities: first dimensions and material, then glazing and glazing-bar pattern, followed by colour and handle. This supports a consistent choice of all design features.

07

Sliding door or an alternative door and window element

The right product type depends first on the required function. If a door leaf is to slide sideways, the sliding door described here meets that operating requirement. A side-sliding Siegenia door is a related alternative. It has Siegenia hardware with high-security multipoint locking and also differs in the specified door-leaf dimensions. Compare the function and options of both products directly rather than transferring features from one sliding door to the other.

If an inward-opening tilt-and-turn leaf is specifically required, our single- or double-leaf patio door may be another product category to consider. An outward-opening entrance door with panel is available for an outward-opening access point. An internal door with panel has a right- or left-hinged leaf and is intended for a different purpose. The opening method is therefore a useful first filter before considering materials, glazing and design.

If a fixed glazed area is planned beside a door, a one-piece glazed door sidelight can be considered. It is fixed and cannot be opened. For window openings, a fixed-glazed window and a round fixed-glazed window are also available; neither can be opened. They do not replace a movable door, but may be relevant comparison products in a plan with additional fixed glass areas.

Always compare related products using their own data. Materials, hardware, frame and leaf dimensions, and available options are not automatically identical, even where products look or function similarly. First establish whether the element should be movable or fixed and what exact opening method is required. You can then select the product whose function and options suit your project.

08

Providing clear details for the right sliding door

For a specific enquiry, a clear summary of the key choices is sufficient. State the required width and height dimensions in millimetres, preferred timber type, whether aluminium cladding is wanted, the 2- or 3-pane insulating glass option and the chosen two-frame glazing-bar pattern. Add your preferred colour and handle option. If several elements are planned, identify each one clearly so dimensions and specification requirements are not mixed up.

A short description of the project is also useful: is it a new build or renovation, which elements adjoin the sliding door, and should their design be continued or deliberately contrasted? This helps us understand your design goals. Photos or sketches can illustrate the desired view, provided all relevant dimensions and product selections are also supplied as clear written details.

Check your summary for inconsistencies before sending it. A clear material statement is especially important because pine and oak are each available with or without aluminium cladding, and the associated component dimensions differ. Also check that the selected glazing-bar pattern corresponds exactly to one of the offered two-frame designs. The more clearly these decisions are documented, the more precisely we can answer your enquiry about the required product.

Our sliding doors carry a five-year warranty. If you are still deciding between two available versions, tell us both options and the key difference, such as timber type, glazing or glazing-bar pattern. We can help you navigate the available choices so your made-to-measure sliding door suits your particular project functionally and visually.
