Bloomcabin 1 sash without glazing bars. This top-hung window opens outwards and has 1 sash without glazing bars. Its uninterrupted glass view feels open, modern and deliberately pared back. Choose materials and finishes to complement your architecture.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Uninterrupted glass view

The sash without glazing bars creates a continuous glass view with an especially calm appearance. The design draws attention to daylight, outlook and the window’s clean outline.

  2. Top-hung opening

The top-hung, outward-opening version combines a clear opening action with a pared-back design. A single sash keeps the overall appearance uncluttered.

  3. High energy efficiency

Its energy-efficient design supports a comfortable interior atmosphere and contributes to greater everyday comfort in living spaces.

This outward-opening, top-hung window is suited to new builds and renovations where a single sash without glazing bars should create an open, minimalist view. It complements clean façade concepts and understated interiors. 1 sash without glazing bars — balanced proportions help coordinate the design with the architecture and the intended façade effect. The window or door design can therefore sit harmoniously within modern, classic or carefully renovated buildings.

This top-hung window has one sash that opens outwards and incorporates a lifting function. It is suited to projects where a defined top-hung movement and outward opening match the intended use and building setting. Because the window is made to measure, you can request its product size using carefully taken opening dimensions. Material, glazing, glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle can then be combined into a coherent configuration from the available choices.

Choose pine or oak, either without or with aluminium cladding. Several specifically named glazing-bar patterns allow a restrained uninterrupted appearance or more strongly divided compositions. The insulated glazing includes a heat-reflective coating, warm-edge spacer and argon gas. This page takes you from everyday operation through construction and styling to the details useful for a clear enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

The sash of this window is hung at the top and opens outwards. Its movement is therefore distinctly different from that of a side-hinged window: the upper section forms the hinged side, while the lower section moves outward when opened. The stated lifting function is part of the outward-opening sash construction. In everyday use, this means operating a clearly defined top-hung movement rather than guiding a sash that swings sideways into the room.

Open and close the sash using the provided handle, guiding its movement in a controlled manner. As a handle choice is available, this operating element can be considered as part of the design during configuration. The window is fitted with SPILKA hardware; select the preferred handle finish to suit the material, colour and glazing-bar pattern.

For everyday use, keep the sash, handle and sealing areas clear of items that could obstruct movement. Since the window opens outwards, the sash moves outside the interior. This can suit layouts where no side-hinged sash should project into the room. Whether this operation suits your project depends on the opening position, its accessibility and how the adjoining area will be used.

The selected glazing-bar layout does not alter the stated core function: it remains a top-hung, outward-opening sash with a lifting function. Select the glazing-bar pattern for the appearance and division you want, not as an assumed change to the opening method. If the operating position has special requirements, tell us where the window will be located and how you wish to reach it day to day. This allows the product configuration and intended use to be discussed clearly.

02

Construction, materials and technical dimensions

The outer frame and sash frame are made in pine or oak. Both timber species are also available with aluminium cladding. This creates four stated material versions: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. Aluminium cladding is part of the selected material version; it should not be understood as simply a colour designation.

Without aluminium cladding, the outer-frame component measures 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer-frame component measures 115 × 57 mm. The sash frame measures 76 × 65 mm without cladding and 86 × 65 mm with cladding. These figures expressly describe the stated frame components. They are not general depth, width or height dimensions for the complete window, nor do they replace project-specific order dimensions.

Installation holes are specified at 14 mm. The hardware is by SPILKA. This is a named product component, not a choice between different brands. The glazing is available as a double- or triple-glazed insulated glass unit. It includes a heat-reflective coating, a CHR warm-edge spacer and argon gas. Black rubber gaskets seal the glazing.

The window is CE marked and offered with a five-year guarantee. As it is made to measure, the required overall size is one of the key details in your enquiry. Keep these order dimensions distinct from the technical component dimensions of the outer and sash frames. Add your choices of material, glazing, glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle so the required version is described unambiguously.

When preparing the configuration, name the material version and preferred glazing together, as the frame components differ with aluminium cladding. Also record the desired glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle. This keeps construction details separate from the choices that define the individual appearance of your window.

Outward-opening sash of the top-hung window

03

Insulated glazing and its components

Two stated insulated-glass constructions are available for the top-hung window. You can choose a double- or triple-glazed insulated glass unit. Each is understood as a complete glass assembly, comprising not only the panes but also the specified coating, spacer and gas fill. State clearly which glazing option you are requesting as part of your chosen configuration.

The heat-reflective coating forms part of the insulated-glazing construction. It is combined with a CHR warm-edge spacer, which is part of the edge seal of the insulated glass unit. The unit also contains argon gas. These three features apply to both double- and triple-glazed versions and should be considered alongside the preferred number of glazing layers.

Black rubber gaskets seal the glazing within the window construction. As functional components, they are separate from the freely selectable window colour. Coordinate the preferred colour with the timber species, any aluminium cladding, glazing-bar pattern and handle, while the black glazing gaskets remain part of the technical construction.

Consider the glazing-bar pattern separately from the choice between the two insulated-glass constructions. The named patterns divide the appearance of the single sash, whereas the glazing details describe the insulated glass unit. For an unambiguous configuration, state both separately: the preferred glass construction and the required glazing-bar pattern. This avoids mistaking a visual division for a statement about the number of glazing layers.

Your selection can follow the overall look planned for the project. A sash without glazing bars gives a calm appearance, while horizontal bars or combined horizontal and vertical bars divide the surface more clearly. Tell us both the preferred glazing and the exact glazing-bar pattern so both choices can be included clearly in your configuration.

04

Named glazing-bar patterns for one sash

Eight glazing-bar patterns are available for this top-hung window: “1 sash without glazing bars”, “1 sash with 1 horizontal glazing bar”, “1 sash with 2 horizontal glazing bars”, “1 sash with 3 horizontal glazing bars”, “1 sash with 1 vertical glazing bar”, “1 sash with 1 horizontal and 1 vertical glazing bar”, “1 sash with 2 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar”, and “1 sash with 3 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar”. The selection ranges from an uninterrupted view to a distinctly divided composition.

The version without glazing bars leaves the view of the single sash uninterrupted. Horizontal glazing bars divide the surface into vertically arranged sections, with the number of horizontal elements determining the degree of division. One vertical glazing bar creates side-by-side sections. Combining horizontal and vertical glazing bars produces a more grid-like composition within the same sash.

When choosing, the relationship to neighbouring windows, façade elements and existing dividing lines can be useful. For example, where horizontal lines define the project, one of the horizontally divided patterns may echo that direction. If the view is to be structured both horizontally and vertically, the corresponding combined patterns are suitable. These are design considerations, not additional product features.

All available glazing-bar patterns apply to the same single-sash window type. The top-hung sash still opens outwards and retains its lifting function; only the visible division changes. Select the material version, colour, handle and glazing independently, then include them with the preferred glazing-bar pattern in your enquiry.

For a clear enquiry, it is best to use the exact name of the required pattern. Terms such as “traditional”, “simple” or “more divided” may add to your design intention, but they do not replace the specific pattern name. If you are planning different views for several windows, assign the required glazing-bar pattern clearly to each opening dimension.

05

Assessing the intended opening correctly

Before requesting the made-to-measure window, assess the intended building opening carefully. Take the relevant opening dimensions at several points and record how the opening is constructed. Clearly distinguish the dimensions of the existing or planned opening from the technical component dimensions of the outer and sash frames. The latter describe individual components and are not automatically the window size to order.

As the sash opens outwards, include the required movement zone outside in project planning. Check whether building parts, cladding, railings, plants, exterior fittings or other obstacles could project into the opening path. Allow sufficient unobstructed space for the actual sash movement according to the ordered size and installation situation.

Also consider the inside operating side. The handle should be sensibly reachable from the intended standing or access area. This is particularly important for high-level or otherwise difficult-to-reach openings. An outward movement prevents the sash from turning sideways into the interior, but does not by itself indicate how conveniently the handle can be reached in your individual situation.

Note whether the opening is for a new build, replacement or another building situation. Describe existing junctions objectively and add informative dimensions to your enquiry where useful. This explains the basis for your size information without confusing frame components, building opening and order size. The stated installation holes are a product detail, but do not replace assessment of the intended junction.

Only once dimensions, accessibility and the outside movement zone have been considered together is there a sound basis for a clear enquiry. If several openings differ in size, list each position separately. Assign material, glazing, glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle to each position so no design choice is inadvertently transferred to another opening.

Single-sash top-hung timber window

06

Material, colour and visual composition

The window’s visual character comes from the interaction of timber species, optional aluminium cladding, colour, glazing-bar pattern, glazing and handle. Pine and oak are the specified timber options. Both may also be selected with aluminium cladding. You can therefore first decide whether to request a timber window or a timber window with the named cladding.

A colour choice is available and will be coordinated with the rest of your configuration during the enquiry. Describe the preferred shade as precisely as possible and state the selected timber species and any aluminium cladding. This allows material and colour to be deliberately coordinated without confusing the two decisions.

The glazing-bar pattern determines the visible division of the single sash. A view without glazing bars appears calmer, while several horizontal elements or a combination with a vertical bar creates a more defined order. Consider existing lines on the façade or at neighbouring openings. Such visual coordination is a project choice, not a technical requirement of the window.

The handle may also be included as a visible detail in the composition, as a handle choice is offered. Coordinate it with the colour, timber species and glazing-bar pattern for a cohesive appearance. SPILKA hardware and black rubber gaskets, by contrast, form part of the technical window construction and are separate from the chosen handle and window colour.

When configuring several windows, a simple design rule can help: use the same timber species and colour at every position, but select different glazing-bar patterns for different openings. Alternatively, use one consistent glazing-bar motif and adapt the sizes to measure. These examples show possible ways to create order without claiming extra variants or fixed design requirements.

07

Related window types and patio doors

If a top-hung sash does not suit every opening in your project, you can also consider related product types. The range includes outward-opening side-hinged windows with one or two sashes, including traditional-style versions. Unlike the top-hung window, these products use a side-hinged sash and should therefore be selected separately for each opening.

The side-hinged windows called “Kombi” combine a fixed-glazed panel with an outward-opening sash. Different glazing-bar patterns are available to divide the fixed panel and sash in different ways. There is also a pivot roof window for roof openings, while single-sash patio doors are designed for projects requiring an outward-opening door leaf.

Material options vary between the related products. Several side-hinged windows, Kombi windows and the standard patio door are available in pine or oak, each with aluminium cladding. The traditional-style versions are offered in pine or oak. The pivot roof window is listed in pine with aluminium cladding. Always check the selection for the relevant product type.

If you want to combine different window types and patio doors in one project, list every opening as a separate position. Assign the required product type, dimensions and relevant selections to it. You can then coordinate a top-hung window, side-hinged window and patio door visually without confusing their different opening types or technical components.

The following related products provide further guidance: Traditional-style single-sash outward-opening side-hinged window, Double-sash outward-opening side-hinged window, Traditional-style double-sash outward-opening side-hinged window, Outward-opening “Kombi” side-hinged window, Traditional-style outward-opening “Kombi” side-hinged window, Pivot roof window, Single-sash outward-opening patio door, Traditional-style single-sash outward-opening patio door.

08

A clear enquiry in a few steps

Start with a position list for your project. Give every intended opening a unique name and enter its carefully taken dimensions. If you need only one window, a single position is sufficient. For several windows, a structured list prevents sizes and design preferences from being mixed up.

Next, specify the material version: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. Then choose the preferred insulated-glass construction. Record these decisions separately, because neither the timber species nor aluminium cladding automatically determines a particular glazing option.

At the next step, use the exact name of the required glazing-bar pattern. Add your preferred colour and handle design. If you have not yet decided on the colour or handle, describe the direction you prefer and clearly mark that point as open. This shows which details have already been decided and where further discussion is required.

Add brief information about the installation situation where it is relevant to understanding your enquiry. This includes access to the handle and any features around the outside movement zone. State specific dimensions and describe existing building components or obstacles. Where several related product types are part of the project, list them as separate positions.

Finally, check your configuration against six key details: position size, material version, glazing, glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle. Also confirm that the top-hung outward-opening casement window is truly the required product type. A concise enquiry with clearly assigned information makes discussion easier and helps capture all your design choices.
