Bloomcabin 2 frames without glass-dividing bars. This patio door uses two outward-opening frames with uninterrupted glazing. Its pared-back design puts the clear surfaces centre stage, creating a generous view where the transition is intended to connect indoors and outdoors visually.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Clean pair

Two frames without glass-dividing bars create a calm, uninterrupted glazed view. The restrained design draws attention to the generous transparent areas and works particularly well with architecture defined by clean forms.

  2. Open feel

Both door leaves open outwards to create a broad passage. Without glass-dividing bars, the deliberately minimal composition visually connects a terrace, balcony or garden more closely with the adjoining living area.

  3. Energy efficiency

Extensive glazing creates a bright, pleasant outdoor threshold. Energy-efficient design supports living comfort while complementing the clear, contemporary character of this double-leaf patio door.

For wide transitions, this patio door uses two outward-opening frames, uninterrupted glazing and restrained styling. It links inside and outside with an open, modern character, leaving the glass visually prominent without extra division. Together, the frames form a double door with no glass-dividing bars.

This double-leaf patio door opens outwards and can be configured for your project. Choose a project-specific size, colour and handle. Pine, oak, and aluminium-clad versions of either timber are available. Named designs with glazing bars or a panel let you incorporate the glazing and surface layout into the appearance you want.

In everyday use, the leaves swing outwards. Alongside appearance, consider the intended opening, the required swing space and the area around the door. Choose 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing with heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. The sections below cover operation, construction, glazing, design options and the information needed for a precise enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

Both leaves open outwards, away from the room. Allow adequate clear space outside for their swing path. A double-leaf construction can also be asymmetrical where the intended overall size meets the applicable size requirements. This allows opening direction, leaf division and available space to be considered together from an early stage.

To close, guide the leaves steadily into their closed position and use the handle according to the installed locking system. Equipment includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The handle is selectable and can be coordinated with size, material, colour and design. We can clarify the available handle solutions for your configuration when you enquire.

With a double-leaf patio door, the leaf division and opening area shape everyday use. Consider how often the doorway will be used, which routes between indoors and outdoors must remain clear, and whether furniture, planters or other items may extend into the swing area. This practical review helps match the size and specification to the space.

Operate the leaves gently and do not allow them to strike objects. Remove visible dirt from the handle, frame or glass using mild care suitable for the selected finish. Take account of whether you chose pine, oak or aluminium cladding, and use only products suitable for the relevant timber, aluminium and colour finish.

02

Construction and specified component dimensions

This patio door is offered in pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. On timber versions, the frame component measures 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the frame component measures 115 × 57 mm. The door leaf component is fixed at 76 × 78 mm both with and without aluminium cladding. These figures identify individual components, not the overall patio-door depth, width or height.

Mounting holes are specified as 14 mm. This construction detail does not determine the required overall size. Custom sizing is available for the project dimension. The ordered overall size, structural opening and stated component dimensions serve different purposes and must not be treated as equivalent. In your enquiry, clearly identify what each measurement refers to.

For an asymmetrical double-leaf version, the inactive leaf starts at 381 mm from a minimum overall size of 1080 mm. At larger overall sizes, the division increases proportionally at 2:1, with the narrower leaf representing one share. This requirement applies only to the asymmetrical configuration. State your required overall size and that you want an asymmetrical version.

Equipment includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The patio door is CE marked and supplied with a five-year commercial guarantee. For a tailored configuration, select the required size, pine or oak, optional aluminium cladding, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, the preferred bar or panel design, colour and handle.

03

Glazing and glass construction

Choose either 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. Both glazing constructions include a heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. State your preferred pane count with the other product features in your enquiry.

The glazing seals are black rubber. In the overall view, they sit alongside the frame, leaves, glazing and selected surface layout. When assessing the look, consider the material, colour, bar pattern and, where relevant, the panel as one coordinated composition rather than judging a single detail alone.

Depending on the design, the patio door can include a panel, creating a combination of glazed and unglazed areas. Options include a panel without extra bars, or versions with two or three horizontal bars. A panel design with two horizontal and one vertical bar is also available. Quote the full design name in your enquiry so the intended layout can be identified unambiguously.

For fully glazed designs, choose no bars or one, two, three or four horizontal glazing-dividing bars. These bars structure the glass areas according to the selected pattern. Panel designs use horizontal bars, or a combination of horizontal and vertical bars. For a cohesive result, align their lines with neighbouring windows, doors or façade elements.

For glazing with minimal division, consider the two-frame design without bars. The horizontal glazing-dividing bar versions, or the combined bar patterns in panel versions, create a more structured look. Record the selected glazing and the full design name separately in your enquiry.

04

Named designs and their surface layouts

The “2 frames without bars” design has no added division from bars and places the glass areas in focus. It suits a restrained, clearly arranged door appearance. Its final effect depends on the ordered overall size, leaf division, selected frame material and colour.

Several levels of horizontal division are available: “2 door leaves with 1 horizontal glazing-dividing bar”, “2 frames with 2 horizontal glazing-dividing bars”, “2 frames with 3 horizontal glazing-dividing bars” and “2 frames with 4 horizontal glazing-dividing bars”. Choose between one division and a more pronounced grid. Compare the lines with adjacent windows, doors or façade surfaces.

To combine glazed and unglazed areas, choose “2 door leaves with panel”, “2 door leaves with panel and 2 horizontal bars” or “2 door leaves with panel and 3 horizontal bars”. More horizontal bars create a more divided appearance. You can then specify colour, material version and glazing to suit your preferred composition.

For added vertical division, select “2 door leaves with panel, 2 horizontal and 1 vertical bar”. It combines a panel with a mixed bar pattern, making it distinct from the horizontal-only versions. The complete design name is particularly useful when enquiring, so it can be distinguished clearly from the other panel designs.

Compare designs by the calmness or detail you want in the door elevation and how they relate to the existing architecture. First decide between an all-glazed arrangement and a version with a panel. Then choose no bars, horizontal division, or the combined horizontal-and-vertical pattern. Include the full design name with size, material, colour and glazing in your enquiry.

05

Assessing the proposed opening correctly

Plan a custom patio door from the actual installation situation. First note where the door will sit and which structural surfaces define the proposed opening. Distinguish in your notes between opening size, desired order size and other project information. Clear labels prevent misunderstandings, because component dimensions must not be equated with the door’s overall size.

Because the leaves open outwards, allow for their swing area outside. Check for steps, balustrades, walls, posts, furniture, planters and other elements that could obstruct opening. Also consider routes across the adjoining patio or outdoor area. This helps establish early whether the proposed position and desired overall size suit how you will use the space.

If considering an asymmetrical version, record the planned overall size especially carefully. From a minimum size of 1080 mm, the inactive leaf starts at 381 mm; at larger overall sizes the division develops proportionally at 2:1, with the narrower leaf representing one share. A clearly labelled sketch showing inside and outside can help communicate the structural opening and adjoining areas.

Connections to the floor, wall and adjacent building elements also belong in the description of the intended installation location. Tell us about known particular features and mark measurements not yet finally checked as provisional. Keep the structural-opening size, desired order size and individual component dimensions consistently separate. This makes the first enquiry clear and orderly.

Finally, consider your usual route between inside and out. The outward swing area should not unnecessarily interfere with frequently used walkways or planned patio furniture. Include seasonal items such as planters or outdoor furniture in this assessment. The more precisely you describe the space, the better the desired size can be checked against the intended use.

06

Colour, material and visual composition

Colour is a selectable feature of this patio door. State your preferred colour direction in your enquiry and list the desired material version separately. This allows pine or oak, any aluminium cladding and colour to be coordinated as distinct parts of your configuration.

Clearly state the timber species and any aluminium cladding in your enquiry. Choose pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding. Precise wording helps identify the selection, particularly when you are enquiring about several doors or other elements. Then add the desired colour.

The bar pattern shapes the surface arrangement of the patio door. Without bars, the glazing remains less divided; horizontal glazing-dividing bars form an increasingly structured grid. The combined panel design adds a vertical bar to the horizontal lines. A panel also creates an unglazed area. This lets you move from a calm glass view to a distinctly structured composition.

You can coordinate the door with lines already present in your project, such as visible divisions in adjacent elements. From your own viewpoint, decide whether a calm or more divided composition suits you. Include the desired overall size and, for an asymmetrical version, the leaf division in that assessment. Whatever appearance you prefer, always state the full design name.

The handle also contributes to the visible overall design. Tell us the design direction you prefer so handles available for your exact door version can be matched with the colour, timber species and any aluminium cladding. Together with the bar or panel design, the handle completes the individual configuration.

07

Related door, sidelight and window types

If your project includes several openings, it can help to consider different product types separately. An “Outward-opening external door” is a different door type from this double-leaf patio door. “Sliding doors” and “Outward-opening folding doors” are also separate product types in the range.

For a fixed-glazed side addition, consider the separate “Single fixed-glazed door sidelight” product type. The “Outward-opening entrance door with panel” is likewise a separate solution for another application. Where several elements are planned for the same project, list each product type separately with its full name, required size and design preferences.

“Interior doors with panels” are also related product types, but serve a different purpose from an outward-opening patio door. For fixed-glazed window openings, choose “Fixed-glazed windows” or “Fixed-glazed round windows”. Neither window type opens, and each can be planned separately by size, material and colour within an overall design.

A shared design approach can follow your preferred colours, materials and lines. It does not, however, provide automatic compatibility between different product types. Tell us which elements are required individually and which only appear within the same visual scheme. Each product can then remain clearly identified in its own right.

Compare the following related products for further openings and design requirements: Outward-opening external door, Sliding doors, Outward-opening folding doors, Single fixed-glazed door sidelight, Outward-opening entrance door with panel, Interior doors with panels, Fixed-glazed windows, Fixed-glazed round windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry step by step

Begin with the intended location and required size. Clearly label every measurement, stating whether it is the structural-opening size, a provisional project size or the desired order size. Also describe the available swing area outside and identify obstacles or adjacent building elements that may matter when planning outward-opening leaves.

Next choose the material version: pine, oak or either timber with aluminium cladding. Add your preferred colour as a separate selection and describe it as specifically as possible, rather than relying only on a general style label.

Then specify the glazing construction and surface design. State 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and, for the design, use the full design name wherever possible. Explicitly state if you want a panel. This keeps glazing construction, bar pattern and panel composition understandable as separate details.

Then add your handle preference. Describe your preferred design direction and coordinate the handle with timber species, any aluminium cladding and colour. The handle selection available for your exact configuration can then be determined with you during the enquiry.

Finish by checking that your summary uses clear terms: location, measurement reference, required symmetrical or asymmetrical version, material, aluminium cladding, colour, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, full design name, panel and handle. For several doors, sidelights or windows, list every element separately. A short organised summary makes every requested feature traceable for each product.
