Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This patio door has two outward-opening frames with uninterrupted glazing. Its pared-back design places the undivided glazed areas centre stage, creating a clean, generous look for openings designed to connect indoor and outdoor spaces visually.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Clean double door

Two frames without glazing bars create a calm, uninterrupted glazed view. The uncluttered design focuses attention on the generous transparent areas and sits particularly well with architecture defined by straight lines.

  2. Open feel

The two outward-opening door leaves create a generous passage. Without glazing bars, the design remains deliberately minimal, so a terrace, balcony or garden appears more closely connected to the adjoining living space.

  3. High energy efficiency

The large glazed areas encourage a bright, welcoming atmosphere at the outdoor threshold. An energy-efficient design supports comfort while reinforcing the clean, contemporary character of this double patio door.

This patio door is suited to wide transitions where two outward-opening frames without glazing bars create a restrained design. It links interior and exterior areas with an open, modern feel and lets the glazing stand out without extra divisions. Two frames form a double door, while the glazing remains free of bars.

This double-leaf patio door combines outward opening with a design planned around your project. Choose the required size, colour and handle. Pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding are available. Named designs with glazing bars or a panel also let you tailor the glazed and solid areas to the look you want.

In daily use, the door leaves open outwards. Alongside appearance, plan for the opening itself, the required swing area and the space around the door. Choose 2- or 3-pane insulating glass with heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon filling. Read on for details on operation, construction, glazing, design options and preparing a precise enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

Both door leaves open outwards, away from the room. Allow sufficient clear space outside for their swing in everyday use. The double-leaf construction can also be asymmetrical, provided the planned overall size meets the applicable dimensional requirements. This lets you consider opening direction, leaf layout and available space together from an early stage.

Close the door by guiding the leaves carefully into position and operating the handle to suit the fitted locking system. The specification includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The handle is selectable and can be coordinated with size, material, colour and design. We will clarify which handle options are available for your chosen configuration when you enquire.

For a double-leaf patio door, leaf arrangement and opening space shape everyday use. Consider how often the doorway will be used, which routes between indoors and outdoors need to remain clear, and whether furniture, planters or other objects could extend into the swing area. This practical assessment helps match size and specification to the available space.

Use the leaves gently each day and do not let them strike nearby objects. Visible dirt on the handle, frame or glass can be removed using gentle care suitable for the selected finish. Consider whether you chose pine, oak or aluminium cladding, and use only care products appropriate for the relevant timber, aluminium and painted finish.

02

Construction and specified component dimensions

The patio door is offered in pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak, or oak with aluminium cladding. The timber frame has a component dimension of 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the frame component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. The door leaf has a specified component dimension of 76 × 78 mm, both with and without aluminium cladding. These figures apply to the individual components, not generally to the depth, width or height of the complete patio door.

Installation drill holes are specified as 14 mm. This construction detail does not replace determining the required overall size. A made-to-measure size option is available for the project. Ordered overall dimensions, the structural opening and the stated component dimensions serve different purposes and must not be treated as equivalent. In your enquiry, clearly identify what each measurement refers to.

For an asymmetrical double-leaf version, the inactive leaf starts at 381 mm from a minimum overall size of 1080 mm. At larger overall sizes, the layout increases proportionally at a 2:1 ratio, with the narrower leaf representing one part. This rule applies only to the asymmetrical configuration. State the required overall size and clearly specify that an asymmetrical version is intended.

The specification includes SPILKA fittings and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The patio door is CE marked and offered with a five-year manufacturer’s guarantee, subject to its terms. For your individual configuration, select the required size, pine or oak, optional aluminium cladding, 2- or 3-pane insulating glass, your preferred bar or panel design, colour and handle.

03

Glazing and glass construction

Choose 2- or 3-pane insulating glass. The glazing incorporates a heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon filling. State the preferred number of panes with the other product features in your enquiry.

The glass seals are black rubber. In the complete view, they work alongside the frame, door leaves, glazing and chosen division of surfaces. When assessing the appearance, it is therefore best to select material, colour, bar pattern and, where relevant, panel as one coordinated composition rather than viewing a single detail alone.

Depending on the design, the patio door can include a panel, creating a composition of glazed and unglazed areas. Choose a panel without additional bars, or versions with two or three horizontal bars. A design with a panel, two horizontal bars and one vertical bar is also available. Quote the complete design name in your enquiry so the required arrangement can be identified clearly.

Fully glazed designs are available without bars or with one, two, three or four horizontal glazing bars. These bars divide the glass areas according to the selected pattern. Panel designs use horizontal bars or combined horizontal and vertical bars. For a coherent scheme, you can align their lines with neighbouring windows, doors or façade elements.

If you prefer a minimally divided glass appearance, the design with two frames and no bars is a good choice. Stronger definition comes from horizontal glazing-bar options or the combined bar patterns of panel designs. Record the preferred glazing and the complete design name as separate details in your enquiry.

04

Named designs and their surface layout

The “2 frames without bars” design has no extra division from bars and brings the glass areas to the fore. It suits a restrained, clearly structured door elevation. Its precise effect depends on the ordered overall size, leaf arrangement, selected frame material and colour.

Several levels of horizontal division are available: “2 door leaves with 1 horizontal glazing bar”, “2 frames with 2 horizontal glazing bars”, “2 frames with 3 horizontal glazing bars” and “2 frames with 4 horizontal glazing bars”. Choose between a single division and a more structured grid. When deciding, compare the lines with adjacent windows, doors or façade surfaces.

To combine glazed and unglazed areas, choose “2 door leaves with panel”, “2 door leaves with panel and 2 horizontal bars”, or “2 door leaves with panel and 3 horizontal bars”. More horizontal bars create a more articulated appearance. You can then select colour, material specification and glazing to suit your preferred composition.

Additional vertical definition is offered by the “2 door leaves with panel, 2 horizontal and 1 vertical bar” design. It combines a panel with a mixed bar pattern, making it distinct from purely horizontally divided versions. Using the complete design name is especially helpful so this option can be clearly distinguished from the other panel designs.

Compare designs by how calm or finely divided you want the door elevation to appear and how it fits the existing architecture. First choose between a fully glazed composition and a version with a panel. Then decide whether you want no bars, horizontal divisions, or the combined horizontal and vertical pattern. Include the complete design name with size, material, colour and glazing in your enquiry.

05

Assessing the planned opening correctly

A made-to-measure patio door should be planned from the actual installation situation. First note where the door will sit and which construction surfaces define the proposed opening. In your notes, distinguish between opening size, desired order size and other project information. Clear labels prevent misunderstandings, since component dimensions must not be equated with the door’s overall dimensions.

As the door leaves open outwards, the external swing area must be included in planning. Check for steps, railings, walls, posts, furniture, planters and other items that could obstruct opening. Also consider routes across the adjoining terrace or outdoor area. This helps you identify early whether the proposed position and desired overall size suit how the space will be used.

If you are considering an asymmetrical version, state the planned overall size particularly carefully. From a minimum size of 1080 mm, the inactive leaf starts at 381 mm; for larger overall sizes, the layout develops proportionally at a 2:1 ratio, with the narrower leaf representing one part. A clearly labelled project sketch showing inside and outside can help explain the structural opening and adjoining areas.

Connections to the floor, wall and adjoining construction elements are also part of describing the intended installation location. Tell us about known special features, and mark dimensions that have not yet been fully checked as provisional. Consistently distinguish structural-opening dimensions, desired order dimensions and individual component dimensions. This keeps the first enquiry clear and unambiguous.

Finally, consider your usual route between indoors and outdoors. The outward swing area should not unnecessarily interfere with frequently used paths or planned terrace furniture. Seasonal items such as planters or garden furniture should also be included in this assessment. The more precisely you describe the space, the better the requested size can be compared with the intended use.

06

Colour, material and visual composition

Colour is one of the selectable features of this patio door. State your preferred colour direction in the enquiry and list the required material specification separately. This allows pine or oak, optional aluminium cladding and colour to be coordinated as distinct parts of your configuration.

Clearly identify the timber species and any desired aluminium cladding in your enquiry. Choose pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding. This precise wording makes allocation easier, especially when you are enquiring about several doors or other elements. Then add your preferred colour.

The bar pattern shapes the surface order of the patio door. Without bars, glazing is less divided, while horizontal glazing bars create an increasingly structured grid. The combined panel design adds a vertical bar to the horizontal lines. A panel also creates an unglazed area. This lets you vary the design from a calm glass elevation to a clearly structured composition.

You can coordinate the door with lines already present in your project, such as visible divisions in neighbouring elements. From your own viewpoint, consider whether you prefer a calmer or more structured composition. Include the desired overall size and, for an asymmetrical version, the leaf arrangement in your assessment. Whatever appearance you choose, always state the complete name of the selected design.

The handle is also part of the visible overall design. Tell us your preferred style so that handles available for your specific door version can be coordinated with colour, timber species and any aluminium cladding. Together with the bar or panel design, the handle completes the individual configuration.

07

Related door, sidelight and window types

If your project includes several openings, it can help to consider different product types separately. An “outward-opening external door” is a different door type from this double-leaf patio door. “Sliding doors” and “outward-opening folding doors” are also separate product types in the range.

For a fixed glazed side addition, the “single glazed door sidelight” is available as a separate product type. The “outward-opening entrance door with panel” is another independent solution for a different application. If several elements are planned for the same project, list each product type separately with its complete name, required size and individual design preferences.

“Internal doors with panel” are also related product types, but serve a different purpose from an outward-opening patio door. For fixed glazed window openings, choose “fixed-glazed windows” or “fixed-glazed round windows”. Neither window type opens, and both can be planned separately by size, material and colour within an overall design scheme.

A shared design scheme can be based on your preferred colours, materials and lines. This does not automatically confirm compatibility between different product types. Tell us which elements are needed individually and which only appear in the same visual plan. Each product can then remain clearly identified in its own right.

Below are related products to compare for further openings and design requirements: Outward-opening external door, Sliding doors, Outward-opening folding doors, Single glazed door sidelight, Outward-opening entrance door with panel, Internal doors with panel, Fixed-glazed windows, Fixed-glazed round windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry step by step

Start with the intended location and required size. Clearly label every measurement and state whether it is the structural-opening size, a provisional project size or the desired order size. Also describe the available external swing area and identify obstacles or adjoining elements that may matter when planning the outward-opening leaves.

Next, select the material specification: pine, oak, or either timber with aluminium cladding. Add your preferred colour as a separate choice and describe it as specifically as possible rather than relying only on a general style description.

Then define the glazing construction and surface design. State 2- or 3-pane insulating glass and, wherever possible, use the complete design name. Say explicitly if you want a panel. This keeps glazing construction, bar pattern and panel composition clear as separate details.

Then add your handle preference. Describe your preferred design direction and coordinate the handle with the timber type, any aluminium cladding and colour. The handle selection available for your specific configuration can then be agreed as part of the enquiry.

Finally, check that your summary uses clear terms: location, measurement reference, required symmetrical or asymmetrical version, material, aluminium cladding, colour, 2- or 3-pane insulating glass, complete design name, panel and handle. If you are enquiring about several doors, sidelights or windows, list each item separately. A short ordered summary makes allocation easier and keeps every requested feature traceable for each product.
