Bloomcabin 3 panels without glazing bars, folding right. This outward-opening folding door has 3 panels without glazing bars and folds to the right. Its pared-back design creates a generous connection between indoors and outdoors, supporting a calm, contemporary architectural style.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Uninterrupted glass view

Three panels without glazing bars give the glass areas a calm, spacious appearance. The consistently minimal design puts daylight, views and the folding door’s clean contours centre stage.

  2. Defined folding arrangement

The folding door folds to the right and opens outwards. This set direction makes it easier to incorporate the door into the planned room layout and façade design.

  3. High energy efficiency

The comfort-focused construction supports high energy efficiency and contributes to a pleasantly comfortable indoor atmosphere when the door is closed.

This right-folding, outward-opening folding door is ideal for transitions where an open, uninterrupted glass view matters most. Three panels bring a crisp, restrained character to living spaces and outdoor areas. The balanced proportions help align the design with the architecture and intended façade effect. Before configuring, select an option that suits the individual project and your personal design objective.

Outward-Opening Bifold Doors

Outward-opening bifold door

Open outwards and fold the panels to the right

Outward-opening bifold doors

An outward-opening bifold door in pine or oak, optionally aluminium-clad, with insulated glazing and clearly defined glazing-bar designs.

Opening principle

Outward-opening folding panels

Material

Pine or oak, each also available with aluminium cladding

Hardware

Centor with high-security multipoint locking

Marking

CE marked

An outward-opening bifold door creates a generously proportioned transition with several connected folding panels. The panels open outwards and fold to the right. Its operation therefore differs clearly from a single hinged door and should be considered in the spatial planning from the outset. Centor hardware with high-security multipoint locking is included.

We manufacture the bifold door to measure and offer a choice of material, colour and handle. Pine and oak are available, each in timber or aluminium-clad versions. You can also choose 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and named designs without glazing bars, with horizontal bars, or with horizontal and vertical bars. This lets you combine dimensions, material character, glass division and operation to suit your project.

01

Operation and everyday use

The folding panels open outwards and fold together to the right. During operation, move the connected elements in a controlled way into their intended folded position. This distinguishes the system from a single hinged door: the opening is opened and closed through several linked panels. Anyone using the bifold door regularly should be familiar with the opening direction, folding movement and locking.

Allow for the movement direction both in front of the opening and on the right-hand folding side. Adjacent building elements and permanently positioned items should not obstruct the intended operation there. Clearly mark the inside and outside, viewing direction and the side to which the panels fold on a drawing. This makes it easier to match the bifold door to the actual installation location.

Centor hardware with high-security multipoint locking is used for operation and locking. Treat the panels as one connected system when opening and closing, and operate the handle and lock without unnecessary force. When making your enquiry, state the opening direction, right-hand folding and handle choice together so the requested version is clearly described.

The handle also shapes everyday use and the visible design. Since a handle choice is available, you can coordinate this decision with timber type, colour, aluminium cladding and glazing-bar pattern. Record the chosen handle option separately, so it does not have to be inferred from a drawing or overall view. A clear specification is particularly helpful when several doors or windows are planned for the same project.

02

Construction, component dimensions and confirmed product data

The bifold door is available in pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. This gives you two timber species, each available in a timber-only or aluminium-clad version. State the chosen material version in full in your enquiry, as aluminium-clad versions have different component dimensions.

The frame component measures 187 × 60 mm; with aluminium cladding it measures 197 × 60 mm. The door panel is specified as 82 × 76 mm, or 92 × 76 mm for the aluminium-clad version. These dimensions apply to the explicitly stated component. The overall size of the made-to-measure bifold door is determined separately for your project and should not be confused with frame or panel dimensions.

The installation holes have a specified dimension of 14 mm. Separately, the overall size of the bifold door is tailored to the project as a made-to-measure product. Record the existing or planned structural opening and the required unit size as separate details. Also identify what each measurement refers to and the points from which it was taken. This keeps the measurement basis clear even with several drawings or design stages.

The bifold door is CE marked and fitted with Centor hardware including high-security multipoint locking. We provide a five-year guarantee. For the specific version, also define the overall dimensions, material option, colour and handle, together with the desired glazing build-up and glazing-bar design. For an aluminium-clad option, state this material version explicitly, as it has its own frame and door-panel dimensions.

Bifold door with glazed folding panels

03

Insulated glazing and glass details

The bifold door is available with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. Both options include a heat-reflective coating, a CHR warm-edge spacer and argon filling. State the desired number of panes explicitly in your enquiry and list it separately from the glazing-bar design. This keeps the glazing construction and visual division clearly distinct, even in extensive project documentation.

The choice between two and three panes forms part of configuring your made-to-measure bifold door. Record this decision together with the overall dimensions and material version, rather than identifying it only through a drawing or elevation. If several door or window products are being requested for one building, it is advisable to assign the respective glazing build-up clearly to each element.

Black rubber is used for the glazing seals. Consider this visible black finish when coordinating glazing, glazing-bar design, timber type, colour and possible aluminium cladding. Keep the glazing seals separate from other material and colour preferences in your specification.

Glazing and glazing-bar design are two separate choices. Options include versions without glazing bars, with one to four horizontal bars, and versions with two, three or four horizontal bars plus one vertical bar. The available combination depends on the named panel design. Therefore use the full design name and state separately whether you require 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing.

For the overall appearance, decide whether you prefer a more continuous glass view or a more divided composition. Glazing bars can echo lines in adjoining windows and façade elements, while a version without bars has a calmer appearance. Where possible, view the selected pattern across the complete made-to-measure system, as the individual unit dimensions influence how the division is perceived.

04

Named panel and glazing-bar designs

Two clearly named options are available for a design without glazing bars: “3 panels without glazing bars, folding right” and “5 panels without glazing bars, folding right”. This allows a composition with three or five panels where no additional division of the glass view is wanted. Right-hand folding is part of both versions.

For a horizontal division, the available options are “3 elements with 1 horizontal glazing bar, folding right”, “3 elements with 2 horizontal glazing bars, folding right”, “3 elements with 3 horizontal glazing bars, folding right” and “3 panels with 4 horizontal glazing bars, folding right”. As the number of bars increases, the glass view is divided into more stacked sections. Choose the specific option according to the desired overall effect.

An additional vertical division is offered by “3 elements with 2 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right”, “3 elements with 3 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right” and “3 elements with 4 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right”. Use the full designation in your enquiry so that both the number of horizontal bars and the additional vertical bar are specified unambiguously.

Choose in two steps: first decide whether a bar-free or divided view best suits your project. Then select only one of the offered combinations with the appropriate number of horizontal and vertical bars. Note that the five-panel option is named as a bar-free design, whereas the listed glazing-bar patterns belong to designs with three panels or elements.

Without glazing bars, the continuous glass view takes centre stage. Horizontal bars create a clearly readable division from top to bottom, while the additional vertical bar further subdivides this composition. Coordinate the pattern with the overall dimensions, façade lines and adjoining windows or doors. Colour, timber type and handle can also affect the result and should therefore be assessed in one overall view.

05

Assessing the intended opening carefully

Because the bifold door opens outwards and folds to the right, the installation situation must suit both movement directions. Record the structural opening separately from the required order size and identify clearly between which points measurements were taken. The inside and outside, as well as the viewing direction, should be clearly marked in the documents. Especially for a made-to-measure product, every figure needs a clear reference so that opening, unit size and spatial position are not confused.

Outside the opening, the movement and folding area of the panels must be considered. Include adjacent walls, projections, railings, steps, roof overhangs, drainage elements, lights and permanently placed objects in your assessment. The area where the folded elements will sit on the right-hand side also forms part of the spatial review. These are project checks, not a statement of a universally required clearance.

Include the finished floor build-up in your planning too. Thresholds, finishes, slopes and changes in level can affect the spatial arrangement of the transition. Distinguish between existing and still-planned surfaces, and note if the final floor level will change as part of the building work. A section drawing or dimensioned sketch can help explain the shell condition and planned finished condition clearly.

Also consider how the transition will be used every day. Frequent walking routes, furnishings on both sides and the position of adjacent doors or windows may matter to the layout. Check these points at the specific installation site and record relevant details in your documents. A sketch showing the viewing direction, inside and outside, and right-hand folding side usually communicates the required arrangement more quickly than an uncommented list of measurements.

The order size should not be calculated solely from the component dimensions of the frame or panels. A made-to-measure product needs a clear basis suited to the intended installation situation. When submitting measurements, state whether they represent an existing structural opening, a planned structural opening size or the desired unit size. This keeps the reference for every detail understandable.

06

Material character, composition and colour selection

Pine and oak each bring their own timber character to the design. Which effect suits your project depends on adjoining surfaces, the interior and the intended architectural expression. The product range also includes aluminium-clad pine and aluminium-clad oak. The selected timber type remains part of the relevant material version.

A colour choice is available as part of the purchase decision. The exact shade should be chosen together with the material and cladding type. Existing windows, doors, façade surfaces, roof details and interior finishes can serve as design reference points. This does not mean everything must be finished in the same shade. Depending on the design, a calm coordination or a deliberate contrast may be appropriate.

Coordinate the glazing-bar design with timber type, colour, aluminium cladding and handle. Horizontal lines can echo adjoining windows or façade elements, while an additional vertical bar creates a stronger division. In a bar-free version, the continuous glass view comes to the fore instead. Consider these decisions together so that material character and linework create a coherent overall appearance.

For a multi-panel bifold door, assess the complete elevation rather than just one panel where possible. The available options differ through three or five panels and through their respective glazing-bar arrangement. How bold or restrained the division appears also depends on the individual overall dimensions and adjacent building elements. An elevation sketch with the full design name makes it easier to compare several options.

Record the desired colour separately from timber type, aluminium cladding, handle, black glazing seals and hardware. This makes it clear which visible surfaces your colour selection applies to. Use existing façade, window and interior colours as guidance, and decide deliberately whether the bifold door should pick up these tones or create a designed contrast.

07

Related product types for other project areas

For other entrances, doors with solid panels can be a suitable product category. The related outward-opening front door is made from pine and fitted with a door panel; versions with glass use 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. For interiors, a solid-panel pine internal door is available, with the leaf hinged on the right or left. Both categories serve different planning purposes from a multi-panel bifold door.

As an alternative to the folding principle, there are also two product types in which a door leaf slides sideways. Both are available in pine or oak and in aluminium-clad versions, and can be fitted with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. One version uses Siegenia hardware with high-security multipoint locking, while the other uses Roto-Frank hardware. The key choice is whether the relevant transition needs a folding or sideways sliding principle.

For terrace access, single- and double-leaf versions with inward-opening tilt-and-turn panels are also available. They are offered in pine or oak, each also with aluminium cladding, and are fitted with Roto-Frank hardware. Their inward opening makes them spatially very different from the bifold door described here. Therefore check separately at each installation location which opening direction suits the room layout, circulation routes and furnishings.

Where daylight is wanted but no opening passage is required, fixed-glazed windows can be included in project planning. A straight-lined and a round, non-opening version are available. Both come in pine or oak with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing; the straight-lined fixed window is also available with aluminium cladding. This clearly separates openings with different functions within one building concept.

Other suitable products include: Outward-opening front door with solid panel, Internal doors with solid panels, Siegenia sliding doors, side-sliding, Single-leaf terrace door, inward-opening, Double-leaf terrace door, inward-opening, Patio Life lift-and-slide doors, Fixed-glazed windows, Round fixed-glazed windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry in clear steps

Start with a clear description of the installation location. State the inside and outside, the type of building project and the function of the planned transition. Add a clear sketch or suitable views where spatial relationships are difficult to explain in words alone. Use consistent terms so that the same side is not described differently in different places.

Then gather the relevant measurements and identify their meaning. Record whether they refer to an existing structural opening, a planned opening or a required unit size. As this is a made-to-measure product, no measurement should be left without explanation. Building-specific details can be added in a short note without already deriving a technical solution from them.

Next, choose the material version: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. Add the required colour and handle choice as separate details. This makes clear which decision concerns the base material, outer cladding and visible design. Avoid general descriptions where a precise material designation is possible.

Specify the desired glazing build-up and glazing-bar design. Where possible, use the full named design designation, including right-hand folding. If you are considering several designs, clearly identify which version is preferred and which is mentioned only for comparison. This prevents different patterns from being mixed unintentionally.

Finally, check that dimensions, equipment preferences and right-hand folding are described consistently across all documents. A sketch or elevation can supplement the assignment of inside and outside. This keeps your enquiry clear and allows it to be linked unambiguously to the intended installation situation.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about outward-opening bifold doors

What size are the installation holes?

The installation holes have a specified dimension of 14 mm. This dimension should be distinguished from the component dimensions of the frame and door panels, as well as from the overall size of the made-to-measure bifold door.

Can I choose a colour for the bifold door?

Yes. A colour choice is one of the available purchase options. Coordinate the required shade with the façade, interior, adjoining building elements and material version so the bifold door suits your project visually.

Is there a choice of handle?

A handle choice is available. When making your enquiry, consider both the desired appearance and everyday operation. The handle choice should be recorded clearly together with material, colour and folding direction.

How do I choose between pine and oak?

Pine and oak differ mainly in their natural timber character. Both are also available with aluminium cladding. The deciding factors are your desired interior effect, external design and planned surface concept.

How do glazing bars change the appearance of the bifold door?

Horizontal glazing bars divide the glass areas into stacked sections. An additional vertical bar extends this division. Without glazing bars, the design is calmer and places greater emphasis on the continuous glass areas.

What details are useful for an unambiguous enquiry?

Send us the dimensions of the intended opening and identify what each measurement refers to. Add the inside and outside, right-hand folding, material version, colour, handle, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and the full name of the required glazing-bar design. A dimensioned sketch or suitable views help assign the installation location and movement direction clearly.

How long does the guarantee for the bifold door last?

The outward-opening bifold door has a five-year guarantee. Keep the documents for your individually configured version so that material, dimensions, glazing, colour, handle and selected glazing-bar design remain clearly recorded.

Is the outward-opening bifold door CE marked?

Yes, the outward-opening bifold door is CE marked.

Configure your bifold door precisely

Send us your measurements and identify the inside and outside, as well as right-hand folding. Add your preferences for pine or oak, possible aluminium cladding, colour, handle, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and glazing-bar design.
