Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This sliding door with two frames and no glazing bars creates a clean, spacious-looking view. Its pared-back design brings the glazed surfaces and frame outlines to the fore for a pleasantly modern appearance.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Two clear frames

Two frames define the balanced overall appearance of this sliding door. Their crisp outlines structure the surface without compromising its calm, linear effect.

  2. Deliberately without glazing bars

With no glazing bars, the design remains uncluttered and understated. Choose materials and surface finishes to suit the architecture and the desired overall impression.

  3. High energy efficiency

Its energy-efficient construction supports comfortable living where indoor and outdoor areas meet, contributing to a welcoming, balanced sense of space.

This sliding door suits building projects that favour a spacious two-frame view without glazing bars and deliberately restrained architecture. 2 frames without glazing bars offer balanced proportions that can be coordinated with the architecture and intended façade effect. When choosing the design, consider the proportions, façade composition and desired overall look together. The reduced layout lets the glass areas take centre stage while the frame contours give the door a defined architectural presence.

Sliding doors combine generous glazing with a clear sideways movement: the door leaf slides horizontally to open and close. This operating principle is a distinct alternative to conventional hinged and tilt-and-turn doors, and can be considered when planning an entrance. At Bloomcabin, you can order a made-to-measure sliding door and select key design features for your new-build or renovation project.

Choose from pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. You can also select 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, available glazing-bar patterns, a suitable colour and a handle. This lets you tailor the door not only to the required dimensions, but also to the architectural character you want to create.

Below, you can discover how to operate and plan the sliding door, the construction and glazing provided, and the differences between the available two-frame designs. We also explain which details help with a specific enquiry and when another door or window element from our range may be the better choice.

01

Everyday side-sliding operation

The defining feature of this door is its movement: the leaf slides sideways when opened. It therefore works differently from a hinged door leaf. This distinction matters when choosing a door because it affects everyday access and how the element fits into the layout. The two-frame design describes the door’s appearance; its operation is determined by the sideways movement of the leaf.

A sliding door is especially suitable where a broad glazed appearance and calm horizontal movement are wanted. When designing the layout, consider more than the opening itself: think about circulation routes, furniture and use of adjoining areas. Include these points early in the floor plan. Mark the intended position on the drawing so the door can be assessed alongside wall surfaces and transitions.

For daily use, also consider who will mainly operate the door and how easily the handle can be reached. Since a choice of handle is available, you can deliberately include this detail in the decision. Compare it with other window and door handles so recurring shapes and finishes create a coherent look. The available handle options can be recorded with the other product choices in your enquiry.

The sliding door can be ordered to measure, making it suitable for individual openings and coordinated new-build or renovation plans. Made to measure does not mean dimensions should be estimated: start with clearly established project measurements. Record the intended location and the planned sideways movement of the leaf in your project documents, so dimensions, use and design can be considered together.

02

Timber, aluminium cladding and component dimensions

For the material, choose pine or oak. Both timber species are also available with aluminium cladding. This gives four clearly defined options: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. Do not choose from one colour sample alone; view the timber, colour and neighbouring elements as a whole. An early material decision supports a consistent design, particularly where several doors or windows appear together.

In the timber version, the outer frame measures 184 × 45 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer frame measures 194 × 45 mm. The door leaf is specified as 112 × 68 mm without aluminium cladding and 122 × 68 mm with cladding. These terms and dimensions apply to the stated components and must not be confused with the overall dimensions of the ordered sliding door during detailed planning.

GU hardware is specified. The fitting holes have a diameter of 14 mm. The product carries CE marking. These details are useful when comparing the sliding door with other components in your project or passing product information to those involved. Always use the full component names, so that, for example, the outer-frame measurement is not mistakenly read as the door-leaf measurement.

Aluminium cladding is an optional material finish and changes the stated component dimensions. It should therefore be considered as part of the wider design, not separately at the end. In your enquiry, clearly state whether pine or oak is required and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. This identifies the material version and related profile data, while colour, handle and glazing can be specified separately.

Timber sliding door with insulated glazing

03

Insulated glazing and glass design

The sliding door is available with two- or three-pane insulated glazing. Both options have a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer (CHR) and argon filling. Black rubber is used for the glass seals. Consider pane count and glass seals together with the chosen glazing-bar pattern and frame finish.

The choice between two and three panes should be made in the context of the whole project. Include planned adjoining windows and doors as well as your design requirements. Where several glazed elements are combined in one façade, a consistently documented choice is particularly helpful. Rather than noting only “insulated glazing”, specify whether the 2- or 3-pane version is required.

The glass design also affects the overall impression. A version without decorative glazing bars highlights the continuous glazed surface. Dividing or decorative glazing bars give the area stronger definition. Glazing type and glazing-bar pattern are separate decisions: first select the insulated-glazing option, then choose the visual division from the available patterns.

View the glazed areas from your usual seating position too. If the door frames a garden view, a lightly divided design can bring that view into greater focus. Where a railing or fence behind the door already creates many lines, compare its effect with the planned glazing bars. A simple overall view helps match the door design to its real setting rather than judging the closed door against a neutral background.

04

Two-frame designs with and without glazing bars

The sliding doors are available in different two-frame designs. The calmest option has no decorative glazing bars. Other versions have one, two, three or four horizontal glazing-dividing bars. These patterns structure the glazed appearance horizontally. Their names refer to the respective glass design and help you identify the pattern you want clearly.

Further two-frame patterns are available for a decorative division. Choose two, three or four horizontal decorative glazing bars combined with one vertical decorative bar. There is also a version with two horizontal and two vertical decorative bars. The choice ranges from an uninterrupted appearance to distinctly structured views, allowing you to select the degree of division that suits the desired door elevation.

The best design depends greatly on the architecture around the door. Horizontal lines can pick up existing façade joints, parapets or repeated divisions. Combinations of horizontal and vertical decorative bars create a more structured appearance. Use these relationships as a visual guide, not as a fixed rule: what matters is which available pattern fits your project convincingly.

When choosing, do not compare only a small image of the design; imagine the glazing-bar pattern at the eventual door size. A pattern can look different depending on the overall format without its defined name or arrangement changing. First establish the required door dimensions, then select the specific two-frame pattern. This lets you assess format, glass effect and lines as a connected design.

05

Preparing made-to-measure doors carefully

Our sliding doors are available to measure. For a reliable product selection, you therefore need project-specific width and height measurements in millimetres. Make sure it is clear what each measurement refers to. The outer-frame and door-leaf profile dimensions stated above do not replace order dimensions; they describe individual components. Keeping these details separate prevents misunderstandings when preparing your enquiry.

For renovations, it is worth fully recording the planned opening before finalising material and design. For new builds, the information should match the current planning stage. If project dimensions change, use only the confirmed version for your enquiry. Record measurements with their units and avoid rounded estimates. This makes it possible to link the required made-to-measure door clearly with the remaining product choices.

Also consider the sliding door in the full wall or façade elevation. The positions of neighbouring windows, sidelights, fixed glazing and other doors can affect which line arrangement appears most convincing. A simple drawing with element names and dimensions helps identify recurring heights or glazing-bar lines. Such sketch information supports visual coordination and should remain clearly separate from the actual product specifications.

Include the sideways movement of the leaf in the usage concept. Check your floor plan to see how the access point will be used every day and how adjoining areas will be arranged. Consider circulation routes, furniture and the position of other elements. Looking at the operating sequence early makes it easier to assess the dimensions, handle choice and position of the sliding door together.

Two-frame sliding door with glazing-bar design

06

Combining colour, handle and material

Alongside made-to-measure dimensions, a colour and handle choice are available. These options allow the sliding door to suit an existing or newly developed design concept. Start with the basic choice between pine and oak and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. Colour and handle can then be assessed more precisely, as both details are always seen with the frame material and large glazed area.

For a calm overall appearance, you can match the colour with neighbouring window and door frames. A deliberate contrast can instead make the sliding door a distinct architectural feature. Both are possible design approaches; the important point is to choose from the colours actually offered. With aluminium cladding, remember that this is already a separate material version and should be clearly named in your enquiry.

The handle is a relatively small but prominent everyday detail. If a consistent appearance is wanted, coordinate it with other visible fittings and handles in the project. Handle choice does not alter the fundamental function: the leaf slides sideways. Instead, it gives you an additional way to bring the operating point and visual details together within the available product options.

Glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle should not be chosen in isolation. An uninterrupted two-frame version looks different from a pattern with several horizontal and vertical decorative bars, and the same frame colour can therefore be perceived differently. Before enquiring, make a short order of priorities: dimensions and material first, then glazing and glazing-bar pattern, followed by colour and handle. This supports a consistent selection of all design features.

07

Sliding door or an alternative door and window element

The right product type starts with the function you need. If the door leaf should slide sideways, the sliding door described here meets that operating requirement. A related alternative is a side-sliding Siegenia sliding door. It has Siegenia hardware with high-security multipoint locking and differs in its stated door-leaf dimensions. Compare the function and options of both products directly instead of transferring features from one sliding door to the other.

If you specifically need an inward-opening tilt-and-turn leaf, our single-leaf or double-leaf patio door may be another product category to consider. An outward-opening entrance door with panel is available for outward-opening access. An internal door with panel has a right- or left-hinged leaf and serves a different purpose. The movement type is therefore a useful first filter before considering materials, glazing and design.

Where a fixed glazed area is planned next to a door, consider a one-piece glazed door sidelight. It is fixed and cannot be opened. A fixed-glazed window and a round fixed-glazed window are also available for window openings; these too cannot be opened. They do not replace a moving door, but can be relevant comparison products in a design with additional fixed glazed areas.

Always compare related products using their own specifications. Materials, hardware, frame and leaf dimensions, and available options are not automatically identical, even where products look or function similarly. First decide whether the element should be movable or fixed and which opening type is required. You can then choose the product whose function and options suit your project.

08

Choose the right sliding door with clear details

For a specific enquiry, a clear list of the key choices is sufficient. State the required width and height in millimetres, the preferred timber species, whether aluminium cladding is required, the 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and the selected two-frame glazing-bar pattern. Add your preferred colour and handle option. If several elements are planned, identify each one clearly so that dimensions and specifications are not mixed up.

A brief project description is also helpful: is it a new build or renovation, which elements adjoin the sliding door, and should its design match them or deliberately contrast with them? This helps us understand your design aims. Photos or sketches can illustrate the desired view, provided all relevant measurements and product choices are also supplied as clear written information.

Check your list for inconsistencies before sending it. A clear material specification is especially important because pine and oak are each available with or without aluminium cladding, and the related component dimensions differ. Also check that the selected glazing-bar pattern exactly matches one of the available two-frame designs. The more clearly these decisions are documented, the more precisely we can answer your enquiry.

Our sliding doors come with a five-year manufacturer guarantee. If you are deciding between two available versions, tell us both options and the key difference, such as timber species, glazing or glazing-bar pattern. We can help you compare the available choices so your made-to-measure sliding door suits your project both functionally and visually.
