Bloomcabin 1 sash without glazing bars. This top-hung window opens outwards and has 1 sash without glazing bars. Its uninterrupted glazed view feels open, modern and deliberately understated. Choose materials and finishes to complement your architecture beautifully.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Uninterrupted glazed view

The sash without glazing bars provides a continuous glazed view with an especially calm appearance. The design draws attention to light, the outlook and the window’s clean outline.

  2. Top-hung opening

The top-hung, outward-opening version combines a clear opening method with a pared-back design. A single sash creates a tidy, uncluttered overall appearance.

  3. High energy efficiency

Its energy-efficient design supports a pleasant indoor atmosphere and contributes to greater comfort throughout the living space.

This outward-opening, top-hung window is suited to new-build and renovation projects where a single sash without glazing bars should create an open, restrained look. It complements clean facade concepts and quietly styled interiors. 1 sash without glazing bars — balanced proportions help coordinate the design with the architecture and the desired facade effect. The window or door design can therefore sit harmoniously within modern, classic or carefully renovated buildings.

This top-hung window has a single sash that opens outwards and a lifting function. It suits projects where the defined movement of a top-hung sash and an outward opening fit the intended use and building situation. As the window is made to measure, you can request its size based on carefully measured opening dimensions. Material, glazing, glazing-bar layout, colour and handle can be combined into a coherent configuration within the available options.

Pine and oak are each available without cladding or with aluminium cladding. Several clearly named glazing-bar layouts allow for a restrained uninterrupted appearance or a more strongly divided composition. The insulating glass includes a heat-reflective coating, warm-edge spacer and argon gas. This page takes you from everyday operation through construction and design to the information useful for a clear enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

The sash of this window is top-hung and opens outwards. Its movement differs clearly from a side-hinged window: the upper section forms the hinge side, while the lower section moves outwards when opened. The stated lifting function is part of the outward-opening sash construction. In everyday use, this means operating a defined top-hung movement rather than guiding a sash that swings sideways into the room.

Open and close the sash using the intended handle, controlling the movement throughout. Because handle options are available, this operating element can be considered as part of the design during configuration. The window is fitted with SPILKA hardware; select the preferred handle version to suit the material, colour and glazing-bar layout.

For daily use, keep the sash, handle and sealing areas clear of objects that could obstruct movement. Since the window opens outwards, the sash moves outside the interior. This can be practical where you do not want a side-hinged window sash projecting into the room. Whether this operation suits your project depends on the position and accessibility of the opening and on use of the adjoining area.

The selected glazing-bar division does not alter the stated basic function: it remains a top-hung, outward-opening sash with a lifting function. Choose the glazing-bar layout for the desired appearance and division, not as an assumed change to the opening method. If the operating position has particular requirements, tell us where the window is located and how you intend to reach it daily. This allows the product configuration and planned use to be discussed clearly.

02

Construction, materials and technical dimensions

The outer frame and sash frame are made in pine or oak. Both timber types are also available with aluminium cladding. This gives four specified material versions: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. Aluminium cladding forms part of the selected material version and should not be understood as simply a colour description.

Without aluminium cladding, the outer frame has a component dimension of 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer-frame component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. The sash frame measures 76 × 65 mm without aluminium cladding and 86 × 65 mm with it. These figures expressly describe the named frame components. They are not general depth, width or height measurements for the complete window and do not replace project-specific order dimensions.

Installation holes of 14 mm are specified. The hardware is supplied by SPILKA. This is a named product component, not an option between different brands. Double- or triple-glazed insulating glass is available. It includes a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer in CHR specification and argon gas. Black rubber seals serve as glazing seals.

The window is CE marked and offered with a five-year manufacturer guarantee. As it is made to measure, the required overall size is a key part of your enquiry. Keep these order dimensions clearly separate from the technical component dimensions of the outer frame and sash frame. Add your choices of material, glazing, glazing-bar layout, colour and handle so the requested version is described unambiguously.

When configuring the window, state the material version and desired glazing together, as the frame components differ with aluminium cladding. Also record the requested glazing-bar layout, colour and handle. This keeps construction details distinct from the choices that define the individual design of your version.

03

Insulating glass and its components

Two specified insulating-glass constructions are available for this top-hung window. You can choose a double- or triple-glazed insulating glass unit. Each is a complete glass construction, consisting not only of panes but also of the stated coating, spacer and gas fill. Therefore, clearly name the glazing option you require in your chosen configuration.

The heat-reflective coating forms part of the insulating-glass construction. It is joined by a warm-edge spacer in CHR specification, which is part of the insulating glass unit’s edge seal. The unit also contains argon gas. These three features apply to both the double- and triple-glazed versions and should be considered together with the desired number of glazing layers.

Black rubber seals seal the glazing within the window construction. As functional components, they are distinct from the freely selectable window colour. Match the desired shade to the timber type, any aluminium cladding, the glazing-bar layout and handle, while the black glazing seals remain part of the technical construction.

Consider the glazing-bar layout independently from the choice between the two insulating-glass constructions. The named bar patterns divide the appearance of the single sash, whereas the glazing information describes the insulating glass unit’s build-up. For a clear configuration, state both separately: the required glass construction and the preferred glazing-bar layout. This avoids mistaking visual division for a statement about the number of glazing layers.

Your choice can follow the overall design you want for the project. A sash without glazing bars creates a calm appearance, whereas horizontal bars or combined horizontal and vertical bars divide the surface more distinctly. Tell us both the required glazing and the exact glazing-bar layout so that both choices can be clearly included in your configuration.

04

Specified glazing-bar layouts for one sash

Eight glazing-bar layouts are available for this top-hung window: “1 sash without glazing bars”, “1 sash with 1 horizontal glazing bar”, “1 sash with 2 horizontal glazing bars”, “1 sash with 3 horizontal glazing bars”, “1 sash with 1 vertical glazing bar”, “1 sash with 1 horizontal and 1 vertical glazing bar”, “1 sash with 2 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar”, and “1 sash with 3 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar”. The choice ranges from an uninterrupted appearance to a clearly divided composition.

The version without glazing bars leaves the appearance of the individual sash uninterrupted. Horizontal glazing bars divide the area into stacked sections, with the number of horizontal elements determining the strength of the division. A single vertical glazing bar divides the view into side-by-side areas. Combining horizontal and vertical bars creates a more grid-like composition within the same sash.

When choosing, the relationship to neighbouring windows, façade elements and existing lines of division may be useful. Where horizontal lines are prominent in the project, one of the horizontally divided patterns can reflect that direction. If the appearance is to be structured both horizontally and vertically, the corresponding combined patterns may be suitable. These are design considerations, not additional product features.

All offered glazing-bar layouts refer to the same single-sash window type. The top-hung sash continues to open outwards and retains its lifting function; only the visible division changes. Choose material version, colour, handle and glazing independently, and include these details with the desired glazing-bar layout in your enquiry.

For a clear enquiry, it is best to use the exact name of the required pattern. Descriptions such as “classic”, “simple” or “more divided” can supplement your design intention but do not replace the specific design name. If you are planning several windows with different appearances, allocate the required glazing-bar layout clearly to each opening size.

05

Assessing the intended opening correctly

Before requesting a made-to-measure window, assess the intended building opening carefully. Measure the relevant opening dimensions at several points and record how the opening is constructed. Clearly distinguish the dimensions of the existing or planned opening from the technical component dimensions of the outer frame and sash frame. The latter describe individual components and are not automatically the window size to order.

As the sash opens outwards, the required movement area on the outside must be included in project planning. Check whether building parts, cladding, railings, plants, outdoor equipment or other obstacles could extend into the opening path. Allow enough clear space for the actual sash movement according to the ordered size and installation situation.

Also consider the internal operating side. The handle should be sensibly accessible from the intended standing or access area. This is particularly important for high-level or otherwise difficult-to-reach openings. An outward movement prevents the sash swinging sideways into the interior, but it does not by itself indicate how conveniently the handle can be reached in your individual situation.

Note whether the opening belongs to a new build, replacement project or another building situation. Describe existing junctions factually and include meaningful dimensions with your enquiry where useful. This explains the basis of your size information without confusing frame components, the building opening and order dimensions. The specified installation holes are product details and do not replace an assessment of the intended connection.

Only when dimensions, accessibility and the external movement area have been considered together is there a sound basis for a clear enquiry. If several openings differ in size, list every position separately. Allocate material, glazing, glazing-bar layout, colour and handle to each position so that no design choice is accidentally transferred to another opening.

Single-sash top-hung timber window

06

Material, colour and visual composition

The window’s visual character results from the combination of timber type, any aluminium cladding, colour, glazing-bar layout, glazing and handle. Pine and oak are the specified timber types, and both can also be selected with aluminium cladding. The first decision is therefore whether to request a timber window or a timber window with the named cladding.

A choice of colours is available and can be coordinated with the remaining configuration during your enquiry. Describe your preferred shade as accurately as possible and state the selected timber type and any aluminium cladding. This allows material and colour to be deliberately coordinated without confusing the two decisions.

The glazing-bar layout determines the visible division of the individual sash. A view without glazing bars appears calmer, while several horizontal elements or a combination with a vertical bar creates stronger visual structure. Take account of existing lines in the façade or adjacent openings. Such visual coordination is a choice for your project, not a technical prerequisite of the window.

The handle can also be included as a visible detail in the composition because a choice of handle is offered. Coordinate it with colour, timber type and glazing-bar layout for a coherent design. By contrast, SPILKA hardware and black rubber seals belong to the technical construction and should be distinguished from the design choice of handle and window colour.

When putting together several windows, a simple design rule can help: use the same timber type and colour for every position but different glazing-bar layouts according to each opening. Alternatively, use a consistent glazing-bar motif and adapt the made-to-measure sizes. These examples show possible ways to create order without claiming extra variants or fixed design requirements.

07

Related window types and patio doors

If a top-hung sash does not suit every opening in your project, you can also consider related product types. The range includes outward-opening side-hung windows with one or two sashes, including versions in a heritage style. Unlike the top-hung window, these products use a side-hung sash and should therefore be selected separately for every opening.

The side-hung windows described as “Kombi” combine a fixed-glazed section with an outward-opening sash. Different glazing-bar layouts are available to divide the fixed section and sash in different ways. There is also a roof pivot window for roof openings, while single-sash patio doors are intended for projects requiring an outward-opening door sash.

Material choices for related products vary by version. Several side-hung windows, Kombi windows and the regular patio door are available in pine or oak, each also with aluminium cladding. Heritage-style versions are offered in pine or oak. The roof pivot window is listed as a pine version with aluminium cladding. Always check the options for the particular product type.

If you wish to combine different window types and patio doors in one project, list each opening as a separate position. Assign the desired product type, dimensions and relevant selections to it. This allows you, for example, to coordinate a top-hung window, side-hung window and patio door visually without mixing up their different opening methods or technical components.

The following related products may help with further orientation: Single-sash heritage side-hung window, outward-opening, Double-sash side-hung window, outward-opening, Double-sash heritage side-hung window, outward-opening, “Kombi” side-hung window, outward-opening, Heritage “Kombi” side-hung window, outward-opening, Roof pivot window, Single-sash outward-opening patio door, Single-sash heritage outward-opening patio door.

08

A clear enquiry in a few steps

Start with a position list for your project. Give each intended opening a clear reference and enter the carefully measured dimensions. If only one window is required, a single position is enough. For several windows, a structured list helps prevent sizes and design preferences from being mixed up.

Next, specify the material version: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak or aluminium-clad oak. Then choose the desired insulating-glass construction. Record these two choices separately, since neither the timber type nor aluminium cladding automatically determines a particular glazing option.

In the next step, use the exact name of the desired glazing-bar layout. Add your colour preference and preferred handle design. If you have not yet decided on colour or handle, describe the direction you prefer and clearly mark that item as open. This shows which information is already settled and where discussion is still needed.

Add brief information about the installation situation where relevant to understanding your enquiry. This includes handle accessibility and any features around the external movement area. Give specific dimensions and describe existing building parts or obstacles. If several related product types are included in the project, list them as separate positions.

Finally, check your configuration against six key details: position dimensions, material version, glazing, glazing-bar layout, colour and handle. Also confirm that the top-hung outward-opening casement window is actually the product type you require. A compact, clearly allocated enquiry makes discussion easier and helps capture your design decisions completely.
