Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This patio door has two outward-opening frames without glazing bars. Its pared-back design puts the uninterrupted glazed areas centre stage, creating a clear, generous look for transitions that visibly connect indoor and outdoor spaces.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Clean double door

Two frames without glazing bars create a calm, uninterrupted glazed view. The clean design draws attention to the generous transparent surfaces and works especially well with architecture defined by straight lines.

  2. Open feel

The two outward-opening door leaves create a broad-feeling passage. Without glazing bars, the design remains deliberately minimal, helping the terrace, balcony or garden feel more visibly connected to the adjoining living space.

  3. High energy efficiency

The large glazed areas encourage a bright, welcoming atmosphere at the outdoor threshold. An energy-efficient design supports everyday comfort and complements the contemporary character of this double patio door.

This patio door suits wide openings where two outward-opening frames without glazing bars provide a restrained look. It connects interior and exterior spaces with an open, modern character, allowing the glazing to remain visually uninterrupted. Two frames form the double door, and the glass has no additional bar division.

This double-leaf patio door combines outward opening with a design tailored to your plans. You can select a project-specific size, colour and handle. Pine, oak and both timber types with aluminium cladding are available. The named designs also let you shape the glazing and solid areas with glazing bars or a panel to achieve the look you want.

In daily use, the door leaves open outwards. As well as appearance, your planning should therefore consider the proposed opening, the required swing area and the space around the door. Choose 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing with heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. Read on for information on operation, construction, glazing, design options and the details needed for a precise enquiry.

01

Operation and everyday use

Both door leaves open outwards, moving away from the room. Allow sufficient clear space outside for their swing in everyday use. The double-leaf construction can also be made asymmetrical, provided the proposed overall size meets the applicable sizing requirements. This makes it possible to consider opening direction, leaf division and available space together at an early stage.

When closing, guide the door leaves carefully into the closed position and operate the handle to suit the fitted locking system. The specification includes SPILKA hardware and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The handle is selectable and can be coordinated with size, material, colour and design. We will confirm which handle options are available for your chosen configuration when you enquire.

With a double-leaf patio door, the leaf division and opening area shape everyday use. Consider how often the doorway will be used, which routes between indoors and outdoors should stay clear, and whether furniture, planters or other items could extend into the swing area. This practical review helps match the size and specification to the available space.

Use the door leaves smoothly each day and do not allow them to strike nearby objects. Visible dirt on the handle, frame or glass can be removed using gentle care suitable for the selected surface. Consider whether you have chosen pine, oak or aluminium cladding, and use only products appropriate for the relevant timber, aluminium and colour finish.

02

Construction and fixed component dimensions

The patio door is available in pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak or oak with aluminium cladding. The timber-frame version has a frame component dimension of 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the frame component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. The door leaf has a fixed component dimension of 76 × 78 mm with or without aluminium cladding. These figures refer specifically to the individual components, not generally to the depth, width or height of the complete patio door.

Installation holes are specified as 14 mm. This figure is part of the construction description and does not replace determining the required overall size. A made-to-measure size option is available for the project. Ordered overall size, structural opening and the stated component dimensions serve different purposes and must not be treated as equivalent. When sending an enquiry, clearly identify what each measurement refers to.

For an asymmetrical double-leaf version, a minimum overall size of 1080 mm gives a starting passive-leaf size of 381 mm. At larger overall sizes, the division increases proportionately at a 2:1 ratio, with the narrower leaf representing one share. This rule applies only to the asymmetrical configuration. Your enquiry should therefore state the required overall size and clearly confirm that an asymmetrical version is intended.

The specification includes SPILKA hardware and ASSA hardware with 3-point locking. The patio door is CE-marked and supplied with a five-year warranty. For your individual configuration, choose the required size, pine or oak, aluminium cladding if required, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, the preferred glazing-bar or panel design, a colour and a handle.

03

Glazing and glass construction

Choose between 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. The glass units have a heat-reflective coating, CHR warm-edge spacers and argon fill. State the preferred number of panes together with the other product features in your enquiry.

The glass seals are black rubber. In the overall appearance, they work alongside the frame, door leaves, glazing and chosen area division. When assessing the design, it is therefore best to consider more than one detail and select material, colour, glazing-bar pattern and, where applicable, the panel as one coordinated composition.

Depending on the design, the patio door can include a panel, creating a composition of glazed and unglazed areas. Options include a panel without additional glazing bars, or versions with two or three horizontal bars. A design with a panel, two horizontal bars and one vertical bar is also available. For unambiguous identification, give the full design name in your enquiry.

Fully glazed designs are available without glazing bars or with one, two, three or four horizontal bars dividing the glass. These bars structure the glazed areas according to the selected pattern. Panel designs use horizontal bars or combined horizontal and vertical bars. For a harmonious plan, their lines can be aligned with neighbouring windows, doors or façade elements.

If you prefer a minimally divided glazed appearance, the design with two frames and no glazing bars is a suitable choice. A stronger structure is created by versions with horizontal glass-dividing bars or by the combined bar patterns of the panel versions. Record the preferred glazing and the full design name separately in your enquiry.

04

Named designs and their area division

The “2 frames without glazing bars” design has no additional division by glazing bars and puts the glass areas in focus. It is a suitable choice if you prefer a restrained, clearly arranged door appearance. Its precise effect depends on the ordered overall size, leaf division, selected frame material and colour.

Several levels of horizontal division are available: “2 door leaves with 1 horizontal glass-dividing bar”, “2 frames with 2 horizontal glass-dividing bars”, “2 frames with 3 horizontal glass-dividing bars” and “2 frames with 4 horizontal glass-dividing bars”. This lets you choose between a single division and a more structured grid. Compare the options with the lines of adjacent windows, doors or façade areas.

To combine glazed and unglazed areas, choose “2 door leaves with panel”, “2 door leaves with panel and 2 horizontal bars” or “2 door leaves with panel and 3 horizontal bars”. The appearance becomes more structured as the number of horizontal bars increases. You can then specify colour, material version and glazing to suit your preferred composition.

The design “2 door leaves with panel, 2 horizontal and 1 vertical bar” adds a vertical division. It combines a panel with a mixed glazing-bar pattern, making it distinctly different from the purely horizontally divided versions. The full design name is particularly helpful when enquiring, so this version can be clearly distinguished from the other panel designs.

Compare the designs according to whether you want the door elevation to appear calm or finely divided, and how it will sit within the existing architecture. First decide between a fully glazed composition and a version with a panel. Then select no glazing bars, a horizontal division or the combined horizontal and vertical pattern. Your enquiry should include the full design name with size, material, colour and glazing.

05

Assessing the proposed opening correctly

A made-to-measure patio door should be planned from the actual installation situation. First note where the door will be located and which building surfaces define the intended opening. In your notes, distinguish between opening size, required order size and other project details. Clear labels avoid misunderstandings, because component dimensions must not be equated with the overall door size.

Because the door leaves open outwards, the exterior swing area must be included in the plan. Check for steps, railings, walls, posts, furniture, planters and other elements that could obstruct opening. Also consider routes across the adjoining patio or outdoor area. This will help you identify early whether the proposed position and overall size suit how you intend to use the space.

If you are considering an asymmetrical version, give the planned overall size with particular care. From a minimum size of 1080 mm, the passive leaf starts at 381 mm; at larger overall sizes, the division develops proportionately at a 2:1 ratio, with the narrower leaf representing one share. A clearly labelled project sketch showing inside and outside can help explain the structural opening and adjacent areas.

Connections to the floor, wall and adjoining components also form part of the installation-site description. Tell us about any known special features and mark measurements that have not yet been finally checked as provisional. Consistently distinguish the structural-opening measurement, desired order size and individual component dimensions. This keeps the first enquiry clear and easy to interpret.

Finally, consider your usual route between indoors and outdoors. The outward swing area should not unnecessarily affect frequently used walkways or planned patio furniture. Seasonal items such as planters or garden furniture should also be included in this assessment. The more precisely you describe the space, the better the required size can be matched to its intended use.

06

Colour, material and visual composition

Colour is one of the selectable features of this patio door. In your enquiry, state your preferred colour or colour family and list the required material version separately. This allows pine or oak, any aluminium cladding and the colour to be coordinated as distinct elements of your configuration.

Clearly state the timber type and any required aluminium cladding in your enquiry. Choose pine, oak, or either timber type with aluminium cladding. This precise description makes matching easier, especially when you are enquiring about several doors or further elements. Then add the desired colour.

The glazing-bar pattern shapes the surface arrangement of the patio door. Without glazing bars, the glazing remains less divided, while horizontal glass-dividing bars create an increasingly structured grid. The combined panel design adds a vertical bar to the horizontal lines. A panel also creates an unglazed section. This lets you progress from a calm glazed appearance to a clearly structured composition.

You can coordinate the door visually with lines already present in your project, such as visible divisions in neighbouring elements. Consider from your own viewpoint whether you prefer a calm or more structured composition. Include the required overall size and, for an asymmetrical version, the leaf division in this assessment. Whatever appearance you choose, always state the full name of the selected design.

The handle also contributes to the door’s overall appearance. Tell us which style you prefer so the handles available for your specific door can be coordinated with the colour, timber type and any aluminium cladding. Together with the glazing-bar or panel design, the handle completes the individual configuration.

07

Related door, sidelight and window types

If your project includes several openings, it can be useful to consider different product types separately. An “outward-opening external door” is a different door type from this double-leaf patio door. “Sliding doors” and “outward-opening folding doors” are also separate product types in the range.

For a fixed-glazed side addition, the “single fixed-glazed door sidelight” is a separate product type. The “outward-opening entrance door with panel” is another independent option for a different use. When several elements are intended for the same project, list each product type separately with its full name, required size and individual design preferences.

“Internal doors with panel” are also related product types, but serve a different purpose from an outward-opening patio door. For fixed-glazed window openings, choose from “fixed-glazed windows” and “round fixed-glazed windows”. Neither window type opens, and each can be planned separately by size, material and colour as part of an overall design.

A shared visual plan can be based on your preferred colours, materials and lines. However, this does not create an automatic compatibility commitment between different product types. Tell us which elements are needed individually and which are only included in the same visual scheme. This ensures every product remains clearly identified in its own right.

Below are related products to compare for further openings and design requirements: Outward-opening external door, Sliding doors, Outward-opening folding doors, Single fixed-glazed door sidelight, Outward-opening entrance door with panel, Internal doors with panel, Fixed-glazed windows, Round fixed-glazed windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry step by step

Start with the intended location and required size. Identify every measurement clearly and say whether it is the structural opening, a provisional project size or the desired order size. Also describe the available exterior swing area and note any obstacles or adjoining components that could matter when planning the outward-opening leaves.

Then choose the material version: pine, oak, or either timber type with aluminium cladding. Add your preferred colour as a separate choice and describe it as specifically as possible rather than relying only on a broad style description.

Next, define the glass construction and area design. State 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and use the full design name where possible. Explicitly mention if a panel is required. This keeps the glazing construction, glazing-bar pattern and panel composition understandable as separate details.

Then add your handle preference. Describe the style you want and coordinate the handle with the timber type, any aluminium cladding and colour. The handle options available for your specific configuration can then be agreed as part of the enquiry.

Finally, check that your summary uses clear terms: installation location, measurement reference, required symmetrical or asymmetrical version, material, aluminium cladding, colour, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, full design name, panel and handle. If several doors, sidelights or windows are required, list every element separately. A short, ordered summary makes allocation easier and keeps every requested feature clear for each product.
