Bloomcabin No glazing bars. This fixed-glazed window for triangular and angled openings shows its distinctive geometry with particular clarity. It cannot be opened and focuses entirely on the visual impact of its shape.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Pure geometry

With no glazing bars, the glass remains fully visible and presents the triangular or angled window shape without interruption. Its pared-back design highlights lines, angles and the distinctive outline of the fixed construction.

  2. Unbroken glazing

The generous, uninterrupted glass area feels calm and contemporary. It lets the opening’s shape speak for itself, creating a clear relationship between the architectural frame and the visible glazing without added divisions.

  3. High energy efficiency

The fixed-glazed design supports a continuous building envelope. With a carefully selected configuration, it can contribute to indoor comfort and high energy efficiency.

This fixed-glazed triangular or angled window suits distinctive roof, gable and façade designs. Choose from available materials and finishes to coordinate it with your architecture and colour palette. Without glazing bars, its balanced proportions help align the design with the building and the intended façade appearance. The clean lines remain the focus.

A fixed triangular or angled window lets you shape an opening with lines that differ from a conventional rectangular window. Requested to measure, it combines clear, non-opening glazing with specified material and design choices. This allows the window composition to suit the intended shape, architectural lines and desired colour effect.

As this window does not open, planning focuses not on everyday sash operation but on the calm arrangement of the glazed area. Choose an uninterrupted view or one of the stated horizontal, vertical or glass-dividing glazing-bar patterns. Pine or oak options, including aluminium-clad versions, provide further ways to coordinate the appearance. Below, we explain operation, technical construction, glazing, the available designs and the details that help us with a specific enquiry.

01

Fixed glazing: function and everyday use

This triangular and angled window is fixed glazing. It has no opening sash or opening function. The glazed area remains closed as a permanent part of the window composition. In everyday use, there is no handle to operate, sash to swing or opening position to consider. This can suit a distinctive shape planned as a calm glazed feature where ventilation is not required.

The absence of an opening function should be considered from the outset when planning the room. If ventilation is needed on the same wall or in the same room, another window or door designed for that purpose may need to provide it. The fixed triangular or angled window itself must not be planned as an operable ventilation opening. Its role is fixed glazing and the design of the particular opening shape.

With fixed glazing, also consider later access to the glass and frame surfaces. How easily the inside and outside can be reached depends on the individual installation situation. If the window is intended for a high or otherwise difficult-to-reach position, it is advisable to plan for future care of accessible surfaces from the beginning.

The selected glazing-bar pattern does not change how the window operates. Whether you choose a continuous glazed view, a horizontal or vertical division, or glass-dividing glazing bars, the entire window remains fixed. You can therefore select the visual treatment for the contour and desired effect without allowing for sash movement.

02

Construction, materials and technical dimensions

Four frame material options are available: pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak, and oak with aluminium cladding. Select one of these complete options when configuring the window, then add your preferred colour. If aluminium cladding is required, state it together with the chosen timber species.

The outer frame has a component dimension of 105 × 57 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer-frame component dimension is 115 × 57 mm. These values specifically describe the named component. They do not generally state the depth, width or height of the complete made-to-measure window and must not be used as the overall dimension of the intended opening. The window shape and its measurements are recorded separately for each project.

The installation holes have a diameter of 14 mm. This component specification must be distinguished from the overall dimensions of the made-to-measure window and those of the intended opening. Choose either 2-pane or 3-pane insulated glazing for the glazed area. Record your preferred glazing option together with the material, colour and glazing-bar design in your configuration.

The triangular and angled window is CE marked and offered with a 5-year guarantee. In your documentation, distinguish the dimensions of the individual window contour from the technical component dimensions: the outer frame measures 105 × 57 mm, or 115 × 57 mm with aluminium cladding. The dimensions of your special shape are instead recorded from its specific contour and clearly identified lengths.

03

Glazing and glazed-area construction

This fixed window is fitted with insulated glazing in the options stated in the technical overview. It has a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer identified as CHR, and argon filling. These features together form the described glazing specification.

Because the window does not open, its glazing forms a permanently fixed area within the frame. The geometric effect comes from the interaction of the outer shape, glazed area and any selected glazing bars. With an undivided design, the shape can be perceived as one continuous area. A glazing-bar design adds horizontal, vertical or combined order. Glass-dividing glazing bars structure the composition differently from bars not described as glass-dividing; the full design name is therefore important when choosing.

The glazing seals are black rubber. They are a separate element of the glazing construction and should not be confused with the selectable frame colour. For visual coordination, consider frame material, colour, glazed area and glazing-bar pattern separately. The seal colour alone does not describe the full frame appearance or a continuous visible border.

When enquiring, state whether you would like 2-pane or 3-pane insulated glazing. Both options belong to this fixed window type and do not change its lack of an opening function. Clearly linking the glazing to the required contour, material option, colour and glazing-bar design creates a complete, easy-to-follow configuration.

04

Available design patterns

Several named design patterns are available for the glazed view. “Without glazing bars” describes the version without the dividing elements specified in the other designs. This option draws attention to the triangular or angled contour and to the most continuous possible glazed view. It is a specific design description and should be stated exactly this way in your enquiry when no glazing-bar division is required.

Single-direction designs include “With 1 horizontal glazing bar” and “With 1 vertical glazing bar”. Another option is “With 1 horizontal glazing bar in the lower section”, whose name identifies its position in the composition. “With 1 horizontal and 1 vertical glazing bar” provides a combined division. These names describe the relevant pattern, not an opening function, because the window remains fixed in every design.

Glass-dividing designs are also offered. These include “With 1 horizontal glass-dividing glazing bar” and “With 1 vertical glass-dividing glazing bar”. More segmented patterns are named “With 2 horizontal glass-dividing glazing bars” and “With 2 vertical glass-dividing glazing bars”. The term “glass-dividing” is essential for an unambiguous selection. A shortened description such as “horizontal glazing bar” could leave it unclear which available design is intended.

The design that best suits your project depends on the contour and the desired visual order. A horizontal glazing bar can divide an angled shape differently from a vertical arrangement, while a combined design creates different accents. Always compare the specified patterns against the intended window shape and also consider adjacent windows, doors or façade lines.

Use the full name of the selected design pattern in your enquiry. This is particularly important for clearly distinguishing horizontal and vertical arrangements, as well as glass-dividing and other glazing-bar versions. A clearly orientated sketch can support the selection and show how you understand top, bottom, inside and outside.

05

Assessing the intended opening correctly

A made-to-measure triangular or angled window begins with an unambiguously described opening. Unlike a simple rectangular contour, angled lines, points, sides and reference points can be interpreted in different ways. Record which view your drawing shows and how the individual edges relate to one another. A labelled sketch can make the shape and orientation understandable without having to guess a specific geometry from a product name alone.

Also check whether your details describe the intended window size or only dimensions of the surrounding area. Frame, opening and other project dimensions should not be mixed in communication. When using existing drawings, label every value according to its actual meaning. This helps avoid reading an angled edge as a horizontal length or assigning an overall length to one section.

When assessing the opening, it is also important to establish which side is understood as inside, outside, top and bottom. This matters particularly where the shape could appear mirrored. A photograph can offer additional orientation but does not replace a clear dimensioned drawing. If adjacent building elements define the shape visually or spatially, you can identify them in a sketch without assigning unconfirmed technical characteristics to them.

Installation and fitting clearances depend on the individual building situation and should not be derived from outer-frame dimensions. The value 105 × 57 mm, or 115 × 57 mm with aluminium cladding, describes the outer frame only. Clarify which measurements are opening, window or component dimensions for your project, and label them accordingly in the documentation.

For a triangular or angled shape, describe not only the general name but the actual contour. Clearly marked edges, corners, angles and dimensional references make it easier to assign the made-to-measure product. Then add the material option, preferred colour, glazing version and glazing-bar design as separate selections so shape and specification remain clearly distinct.

06

Colour, material and visual composition

The effect of a triangular or angled window is shaped by the interplay of contour, frame material, colour, glazed area and glazing-bar pattern. The available colour choice lets you coordinate the design with your project. Name the required shade as clearly as possible and, if useful, explain which existing windows, doors, façade elements or interior features it should reference.

Pine and oak are the timber species offered. Both are also available with aluminium cladding. Cladding is part of the correspondingly named material option, rather than simply a colour description. When choosing, consider the effect of the material and preferred shade indoors and on the façade, along with their relationship to adjacent building elements.

The glazing-bar pattern can follow the direction of the window shape, create a deliberate contrast, or leave the glazed view without further division. Horizontal, vertical and combined patterns each create a different graphic order. In versions expressly described as glass-dividing, this division belongs to the selected design, so using the full variant name in the enquiry is important.

The black rubber glazing seals should not be understood as an independent colour choice for the frame. The selectable frame colour is decisive for colour coordination, while the seal is considered a separate glazing element. Record frame colour, material option and required glazing-bar pattern as separate choices.

If the new window is to match existing windows, doors or façade elements, photographs and clearly stated colour details can serve as visual references. State which detail is important to you, such as the frame colour, timber species or direction of the glazing bars. This makes it possible to compare material, colour and design deliberately and record them as separate selections.

07

Comparing fixed glazing and related opening types

A fixed triangular or angled window is intended as a permanently closed glazed area. If your project needs an opening function elsewhere, the range also includes top-hung outward-opening casement windows, single- and double-sash outward-opening casement windows, and single-sash outward-opening patio doors. These options can complement the fixed special shape within a larger window or door design.

Historic-style options are also available for casement windows and single patio doors. These are offered in pine or oak. The corresponding standard versions of the related windows and doors can instead also be selected in pine or oak with aluminium cladding. Consider these material differences where several elements need to coordinate within one overall view.

The “Kombi” casement window combines a fixed-glazed section with an outward-opening sash, offering another way to arrange fixed and operable areas within one product. Like the other related windows, it is available with 2-pane or 3-pane insulated glazing and in pine, oak or the respective aluminium-clad versions. Select function, material, colour and design separately for every element.

If you are enquiring about several windows or doors for the same project, list each element as a separate item. This keeps clear where a fixed special shape is planned, where a window should open outwards, and whether a single- or double-sash version is required. The following related products provide a direct starting point for comparison:

Top-hung outward-opening casement window, Single-sash outward-opening casement window, Single-sash historic-style outward-opening casement window, Double-sash outward-opening casement window, Double-sash historic-style outward-opening casement window, “Kombi” outward-opening casement window, Single-sash outward-opening patio door, Historic-style single-sash outward-opening patio door.

08

Prepare your enquiry in a few clear steps

Start with a short description of your project and give the full product name, “Fixed triangular and angled window”. For guidance, show the required contour in a clearly orientated sketch. Mark which view is shown and label the lengths relevant to the shape clearly. An additional photograph can also illustrate the installation situation.

Then choose the material option. State whether you require pine, oak or one of the corresponding aluminium-clad versions. Record your colour preference separately so that material and colour are not confused. If the shade should match existing windows, doors or façade elements, name these as design references.

Next, state the glazing you require using the available option. Then copy the full name of the glazing-bar design from the overview. Precise wording is particularly important for glass-dividing glazing bars. A sketch of the pattern can clarify your selection, but should not be replaced with an invented design name.

Finally, set out all details in a clear order: product name, contour, dimensioned drawing, orientation, material option, colour, glazing and design. List several windows as separate items so different shapes or design preferences are not mixed. If other window or door types belong to the same project, name these separately too, using their full product names.

Before sending, check that your documents are clear and free of contradictions. Pay particular attention to ensuring every edge is labelled consistently and that dimensions, colour preference, glazing-bar pattern and material can be assigned to the correct window. A well-structured enquiry gives us a clear basis for discussing your made-to-measure window and any outstanding selections with you.
