Bloomcabin 3 panels without glazing bars, folding right. This outward-opening folding door has 3 panels without glazing bars and folds to the right. Its pared-back design creates a generous connection between indoors and outdoors while emphasising a calm, modern architectural style.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Open glass view

Three panels without glazing bars give the glass surfaces a calm, expansive appearance. The consistently minimal design places light, views and the folding door’s clean outlines at centre stage.

  2. Defined folding arrangement

The folding door opens outwards and folds to the right. This clearly defined movement direction helps integrate the door into the intended room layout and façade concept.

  3. High energy efficiency

Its comfort-focused construction supports high energy efficiency and helps create a pleasantly cosy feeling when the room is closed off.

This outward-opening folding door folds to the right and suits transitions where an uninterrupted glass view takes priority. Three panels bring a clear, understated design to living and outdoor areas. Their balanced proportions make it easier to coordinate the door with the architecture and intended façade character. Before configuration, select the version to suit the building project and personal design aims.

Outward-Opening Bifold Doors

Outward-Opening Bifold Door

Open outwards and fold the leaves to the right

Outward-opening bifold doors

An outward-opening bifold door in pine or oak, optionally aluminium-clad, with insulated glazing and clearly specified glazing-bar designs.

Opening principle

Outward-opening folding leaves

Material

Pine or oak, each also available with aluminium cladding

Hardware

Centor with high-security multipoint locking

Marking

CE marked

An outward-opening bifold door creates a generous transition using several connected folding leaves. The leaves open outwards and fold to the right. This makes its operation distinctly different from a single hinged door and should be considered in the spatial planning from the outset. Centor hardware with high-security multipoint locking is included.

We manufacture the bifold door to measure and offer a choice of material, colour and handle. Pine and oak are available, either in timber or with aluminium cladding. There is also a choice of 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and specified designs without glazing bars, with horizontal glazing bars, or with horizontal and vertical glazing bars. This lets you combine dimensions, material character, glazing layout and operation to suit your project.

01

Operation and everyday use

The folding leaves open outwards and fold together to the right. When operating them, move the connected elements in a controlled way into their intended folded position. This differs from a single hinged door: the opening is opened and closed by several linked leaves. Anyone using the bifold door regularly should be familiar with the opening direction, folding movement and locking.

Allow for the movement direction both in front of the opening and at the folding side on the right. Adjacent building elements and permanently placed items should not obstruct intended operation there. Clearly mark the inside and outside, viewing direction and the side to which the leaves fold on a drawing. This makes it easier to coordinate the bifold door with its actual installation location.

Centor hardware with high-security multipoint locking is used for operation and locking. Treat the leaves as one connected system when opening and closing, and operate the handle and lock without unnecessary force. Your enquiry should state the opening direction, right-hand folding and handle choice together so that the required version is clearly described.

The handle also shapes daily use and the visible design. As a handle selection is available, you can coordinate it with timber species, colour, aluminium cladding and glazing-bar pattern. Record the preferred handle option separately so it does not have to be inferred from a drawing or general view. A clear specification is particularly useful where several doors or windows are planned for the same project.

02

Construction, component dimensions and confirmed product details

The bifold door is available in pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak or oak with aluminium cladding. This gives you two timber species, each available in timber form or with aluminium cladding. State the complete material version in your enquiry, as aluminium-clad versions have different component dimensions.

The frame component measures 187 × 60 mm; with aluminium cladding, it measures 197 × 60 mm. The door leaf is specified as 82 × 76 mm, or 92 × 76 mm for the aluminium-clad version. These dimensions apply to the component explicitly named. The overall size of the made-to-measure bifold door is set separately for your project and should not be confused with frame or leaf dimensions.

The specified mounting-hole dimension is 14 mm. Separately, the overall size of the bifold door is tailored to the project as a made-to-measure product. Record the existing or planned structural opening and the desired element size as separate details. Also indicate what each measurement refers to and the points from which it was measured. This keeps the measurement basis clear even across several drawings or design stages.

The bifold door is CE marked and fitted with Centor hardware including high-security multipoint locking. We provide a five-year warranty. For the specific version, also define the overall size, material option, colour and handle, plus the desired glazing build-up and glazing-bar pattern. For an aluminium-clad option, state this material version explicitly, as it has its own frame and door-leaf dimensions.

Bifold door with glazed folding leaves

03

Insulated glazing and glass details

The bifold door is available with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. Both options include a heat-reflective coating, a CHR warm-edge spacer and argon filling. State the preferred number of panes explicitly in your enquiry and list it separately from the glazing-bar design. This keeps the glazing build-up and visual division clearly distinct, even in more extensive project documents.

The choice between two and three panes forms part of configuring your made-to-measure bifold door. Record this decision together with the overall size and material version, rather than indicating it only through a drawing or view. When several door or window products are requested for a building, clearly assign the relevant glazing build-up to each element.

Black rubber is used for the glazing seals. Consider this visible black finish when coordinating glazing, glazing-bar design, timber species, colour and possible aluminium cladding. Record the glazing seals separately from the other material and colour preferences in your specification.

Glazing and glazing-bar design are two separate choices. Options are available without glazing bars, with one to four horizontal glazing bars, and with two, three or four horizontal glazing bars plus one vertical glazing bar. The offered combination depends on the named leaf design. Use the complete design name and separately state whether you require 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing.

For the overall effect, consider whether you prefer an uninterrupted glass view or a more divided composition. Glazing bars can echo the lines of adjacent windows and façade elements, while a bar-free version appears calmer. Where possible, view the selected pattern across the complete made-to-measure installation, as the individual element size affects how the divisions are perceived.

04

Specified leaf and glazing-bar designs

Two clearly specified bar-free designs are available: “3 leaves without glazing bars, folding right” and “5 leaves without glazing bars, folding right”. This allows a choice between a composition of three or five leaves where no additional division of the glass view is wanted. Right-hand folding is part of both versions.

For horizontal division, choose from “3 elements with 1 horizontal glazing bar, folding right”, “3 elements with 2 horizontal glazing bars, folding right”, “3 elements with 3 horizontal glazing bars, folding right” and “3 leaves with 4 horizontal glazing bars, folding right”. As the number of glazing bars increases, the glass view is divided into more stacked sections. Select the specific version according to the overall effect you want.

Additional vertical division is offered by “3 elements with 2 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right”, “3 elements with 3 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right” and “3 elements with 4 horizontal glazing bars and 1 vertical glazing bar, folding right”. Use the full designation in your enquiry so that both the number of horizontal bars and the additional vertical bar are unambiguously specified.

Choose in two stages: first decide whether a bar-free or divided view suits your project better. Then select only one of the offered combinations with the appropriate number of horizontal and vertical glazing bars. Note that the five-leaf version is named as a bar-free design, while the listed glazing-bar patterns belong to designs with three leaves or elements.

Without glazing bars, the continuous glass view takes centre stage. Horizontal glazing bars create a clearly readable top-to-bottom division; the additional vertical bar subdivides this composition further. Coordinate the pattern with the overall size, façade lines and adjacent windows or doors. Colour, timber species and handle can also affect the appearance and should be assessed together in an overall view.

05

Assessing the intended opening carefully

As the bifold door opens outwards and folds to the right, the installation situation must suit both movement directions. Record the structural opening separately from the desired order size and clearly identify the points between which measurements were taken. The inside, outside and viewing direction should be clearly marked in the documentation. With a made-to-measure product, every number needs a clear reference so the opening, element size and spatial orientation are not confused.

The movement and folding area of the leaves must be considered outside the opening. Include adjacent walls, projections, railings, steps, roof overhangs, drainage elements, lights and permanently positioned items in your assessment. The area where the folded elements will sit on the right also forms part of the spatial review. These are project checks, not a statement of any generally required clearance.

Include the finished floor build-up in your planning. Thresholds, surface finishes, slopes and changes in level can affect the spatial arrangement of the transition. Distinguish between existing and still-planned surfaces, and note if the final floor height will change during construction. A section drawing or dimensioned sketch can help explain the shell condition and planned finished condition clearly.

Also consider how the transition will be used every day. Frequent routes, furniture on both sides and the position of adjacent doors or windows may all matter for the layout. Check these points at the specific installation site and record relevant features in your documents. A sketch showing viewing direction, inside and outside, and the right-hand folding side is often clearer than an uncommented list of dimensions.

The order size should not be calculated from the component dimensions of the frame or leaves alone. A made-to-measure product needs a clear basis suited to the intended installation situation. When sending dimensions, therefore state whether they show an existing structural opening, a planned structural opening or the desired element size. This keeps the reference for every detail traceable.

06

Material character, composition and colour choice

Pine and oak each bring their own timber character to the design. The effect that suits your project depends on adjacent surfaces, the interior and the architectural expression you want. The product selection also includes pine with aluminium cladding and oak with aluminium cladding. The chosen timber species remains part of the respective material version.

A colour selection is available as part of the purchase decision. The specific shade should be chosen together with the material and cladding type. Existing windows, doors, façade surfaces, roof details and interior finishes can serve as design references. This does not mean everything must be finished in the same shade. Depending on the design, subtle coordination or deliberate contrast may be appropriate.

Coordinate the glazing-bar design with timber species, colour, aluminium cladding and handle. Horizontal lines can relate to adjacent windows or façade elements, while an additional vertical bar creates stronger subdivision. With a bar-free version, the uninterrupted glass view takes prominence instead. Consider these choices together so that the material character and linework create a coherent overall appearance.

For a multi-part bifold door, assess the whole view where possible rather than a single leaf. The offered versions differ through three or five leaves and their respective glazing-bar arrangements. How bold or restrained a division appears also depends on the individual overall size and neighbouring building elements. A view drawing with the full design name makes it easier to compare several options.

Record the preferred colour separately from details of the timber species, aluminium cladding, handle, black glazing seals and hardware. This makes clear which visible surfaces your colour choice applies to. Use existing façade, window and interior colours as guidance, then decide deliberately whether the bifold door should pick up these tones or create a design contrast.

07

Related product types for other project areas

For other entrances, doors with solid panels may be a suitable product category. The related outward-opening front door is made from pine and fitted with a door panel; versions with glass are specified with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. For interiors, a solid-panel pine internal door is available with a right- or left-hinged leaf. Both categories serve different planning purposes from a multi-leaf bifold door.

As alternatives to the folding principle, there are also two product types in which a door leaf slides sideways. Both are available in pine or oak, including versions with aluminium cladding, and can be supplied with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing. One version uses Siegenia hardware with high-security multipoint locking, while the other uses Roto-Frank hardware. The first decision is whether the relevant transition requires folding or sideways sliding.

For patio access, single- and double-leaf versions with inward-opening tilt-and-turn leaves are also available. They are offered in pine or oak, each also with aluminium cladding, and fitted with Roto-Frank hardware. Their inward opening differs spatially from the bifold door described here. Check separately at every installation location which movement direction suits the room layout, routes and furniture.

Where daylight is needed but an opening passage is not, fixed-glazed windows can be included in the project planning. Choose from a straight-edged and a round non-opening version. Both are available in pine or oak with 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing; the straight-edged fixed window is also available with aluminium cladding. This makes it possible to distinguish openings with different functions clearly within one building concept.

Further suitable products include: Outward-opening front door with panel, Internal doors with panels, Siegenia sliding doors, side-sliding, Single-leaf patio door, inward-opening, Double-leaf patio door, inward-opening, Patio Life lift-and-slide doors, Fixed-glazed windows, Round fixed-glazed windows.

08

Prepare your enquiry in clear steps

Start with a clear description of the installation location. Identify the inside and outside, the type of building project and the function of the planned transition. Add a clear sketch or suitable views where spatial relationships are difficult to explain in words alone. Use consistent terms so that the same side is not described differently in different places.

Then gather the relevant dimensions and identify their meaning. State whether they refer to an existing structural opening, a planned opening or a desired element size. As this is a made-to-measure product, no unannotated measurement should remain. Building-specific features can be added in a brief note without prematurely defining a technical solution.

Next choose the material version: pine, pine with aluminium cladding, oak or oak with aluminium cladding. Add the desired colour and handle choice as separate details. This makes clear which decision concerns the base material, which the external cladding and which the visible design. Avoid general terms where a precise material designation is possible.

Specify the desired glazing build-up and glazing-bar design. For the pattern, use the complete named design where possible, including folding to the right. If you are considering several designs, clearly mark which version is preferred and which is included only for comparison. This prevents different patterns from being unintentionally combined.

Finally, check that dimensions, equipment preferences and right-hand folding are described consistently throughout all documents. A sketch or view can supplement the identification of inside and outside. This keeps your enquiry clear and allows it to be assigned unambiguously to the intended installation situation.

Questions and answers

Frequently asked questions about outward-opening bifold doors

What size are the mounting holes?

The mounting holes are specified as 14 mm. This dimension should be distinguished from the component dimensions of the frame and door leaves, as well as from the overall size of the made-to-measure bifold door.

Can I choose a colour for the bifold door?

Yes. A colour choice is one of the available purchase options. Coordinate the preferred shade with the façade, interior, adjoining elements and material version so that the bifold door suits your project visually.

Is there a choice of handle?

A handle selection is available. When making your enquiry, consider both the desired appearance and everyday handling. The handle choice should be recorded clearly together with the material, colour and folding direction.

How do I choose between pine and oak?

Pine and oak differ primarily in their natural timber character. Both are also available with aluminium cladding. Your preferred interior effect, external design and planned finish concept will guide the decision.

How do glazing bars change the appearance of the bifold door?

Horizontal glazing bars divide the glass areas into stacked sections. An additional vertical glazing bar extends this division. Without glazing bars, the design is calmer and places greater emphasis on the continuous glass areas.

What details are useful for an unambiguous enquiry?

Send us the dimensions of the intended opening and indicate what each measurement refers to. Add the inside and outside, right-hand folding, material version, colour, handle, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and the full name of the desired glazing-bar design. A dimensioned sketch or suitable views help assign the installation location and movement direction clearly.

How long is the warranty for the bifold door?

The outward-opening bifold door has a five-year warranty. Keep the documents for your individually configured version so that the material, dimensions, glazing, colour, handle and selected glazing-bar design remain clearly recorded.

Is the outward-opening bifold door CE marked?

Yes, the outward-opening bifold door is CE marked.

Configure your bifold door precisely

Send us your dimensions and identify the inside and outside, as well as folding to the right. Add your preferences for pine or oak, possible aluminium cladding, colour, handle, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing and glazing-bar design.
