Bloomcabin 2 frames without glazing bars. This sliding door with two frames and no glazing bars creates a clean, spacious-looking view. The pared-back design brings the surfaces and frame outlines to the fore, creating a pleasantly modern appearance.

Why choose this Bloomcabin design?

  1. Two clean frames

Two frames define the balanced overall appearance of the sliding door. Their clear outlines structure the surface without disrupting its calm, linear effect.

  2. Deliberately without glazing bars

The absence of glazing bars keeps the design uncluttered and understated. Select materials and surface finishes to match the architecture and the desired overall impression.

  3. High energy efficiency

The energy-efficient construction supports comfortable living at the transition between indoors and outdoors. It contributes to a welcoming, balanced sense of space.

This sliding door suits projects seeking a spacious two-frame view without glazing bars and a deliberately pared-back architectural style. 2 frames without glazing bars — balanced proportions help coordinate the design with the architecture and intended facade appearance. With the 2-frame, glazing-bar-free layout, the proportions, facade composition and desired overall effect can also be considered together.

Sliding doors combine expansive glazing with a clear sideways movement: the door leaf slides sideways to open and close. This operating principle is a distinct alternative to conventional hinged and tilt-and-turn doors, and can be deliberately included in access planning. At Bloomcabin, you can order a made-to-measure sliding door and select key design features for your new-build or renovation project.

Material options include pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. You can also choose 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, from the available glazing-bar patterns, a suitable colour and a handle. This lets you tailor the door not only to the required dimensions, but also to the architectural character you want to achieve.

Below, discover how the sliding door operates and can be planned, which construction and glazing are specified, and how the available two-frame designs differ. We also explain which details are useful for a specific enquiry and when another door or window element from our range may be the better choice.

01

Sideways sliding in everyday use

The defining feature of this door is its movement: the door leaf slides sideways when opened. It therefore works differently from a hinged leaf. This distinction matters when choosing a door because it affects everyday use of the access point and how the element fits into the room layout. The two-frame design describes the door’s appearance; operation is determined by the sideways movement of the leaf.

A sliding door is especially suitable where a broad glazed effect and calm horizontal movement are desired. When developing the layout, consider more than the opening itself: think about circulation routes, furniture and use of adjoining areas. Include these points early in your floor plan. Mark the preferred location on the drawing so the door can be assessed in relation to wall areas and transitions.

For everyday use, also consider who will mainly operate the door and whether the handle is easy to reach. Because a handle choice is available, this detail can be included consciously in your decision. Compare it with other window and door handles so recurring forms and finishes create a cohesive look. Available handle options can be recorded with the other product choices in your enquiry.

The sliding door can be ordered to measure, making it suitable for individual openings and coordinated new-build or renovation plans. Made to measure does not mean dimensions should be estimated: start with clearly established project measurements. In your project documents, also identify the proposed location and intended sideways movement of the leaf. This enables dimensions, use and design to be considered together when you enquire.

02

Timber types, aluminium cladding and component dimensions

You can choose between pine and oak. Both timbers are also available with aluminium cladding. This gives four clearly defined material versions: pine, aluminium-clad pine, oak and aluminium-clad oak. Do not select from a colour sample alone; consider timber, colour and adjacent elements as one overall composition. Where several doors or windows share an elevation, choosing the material early supports a consistent design.

The timber outer frame measures 184 × 45 mm. With aluminium cladding, the outer-frame dimension is 194 × 45 mm. Without aluminium cladding, the door leaf is specified as 112 × 68 mm; with cladding, it measures 122 × 68 mm. These names and dimensions refer to the stated components and should not be confused during detailed planning with the overall dimensions of the ordered sliding door.

GU hardware is specified. Installation holes have a diameter of 14 mm. The product carries CE marking. These details are useful when comparing the sliding door with other components in your project or passing organised product information to those involved. Always use the complete component names so, for example, the outer-frame dimension is not mistakenly read as a door-leaf dimension.

Aluminium cladding is an optional material version and changes the stated component dimensions. It should therefore be considered alongside the rest of the planning rather than separately. In an enquiry, clearly state whether pine or oak is required and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. This makes the material variant and its profile information clear, while colour, handle and glazing can be specified separately.

Timber sliding door with insulated glazing

03

Insulated glazing and glass design

The sliding door is available with double- or triple-pane insulated glazing. Both versions have a heat-reflective coating, a warm-edge spacer (CHR) and argon filling. Black rubber is used for the glass seals. Consider the number of panes and the seals together with the chosen glazing-bar pattern and frame version.

The choice between two and three panes should be made in the context of the entire project. Consider planned adjoining windows and doors as well as your design requirements. Where several glazed elements are combined in one façade, consistently documented choices are especially useful. Do not simply note “insulated glazing”; state clearly whether the 2- or 3-pane version is required.

Glass design also influences the overall impression. A version without decorative glazing bars places the continuous glass effect in the foreground. Dividing or decorative glazing bars give the surface stronger structure. Glazing type and bar pattern are separate choices: first select the preferred insulated-glazing version, then choose the visual division from the available patterns.

View the glass areas from your usual seating position too. If the door frames a garden view, a less divided design may bring that outlook forward. If railings or fencing behind the door already create many lines, compare their effect with the planned glazing bars. A simple overall view helps match the door design to its real setting, rather than judging the closed door against a neutral background.

04

Two-frame designs with and without glazing bars

Sliding doors are available in different two-frame designs. The quietest version has no decorative glazing bars. Other versions offer one, two, three or four horizontal glass-dividing bars. These patterns structure the glazing horizontally. The names refer to the particular layout of the glass areas and help you select the desired pattern unambiguously.

Further two-frame patterns are available for a decorative division. Choose two, three or four horizontal decorative glazing bars combined with one vertical decorative bar. There is also a version with two horizontal and two vertical decorative bars. The range runs from an uninterrupted look to distinctly structured elevations, allowing you to select the degree of division that suits the required door appearance.

The best design depends largely on the architecture around the door. Horizontal lines can echo façade joints, parapets or recurring divisions. Combinations of horizontal and vertical decorative bars create a more articulated appearance. Use these relationships as a visual aid rather than a fixed rule: what matters is which of the available patterns fits coherently into your actual project.

When selecting, do not assess only a small design image; imagine the glazing-bar pattern at the eventual size of the door. A pattern can appear different at different overall formats without changing its defined name or arrangement. Record the desired door dimensions first, then choose the specific two-frame pattern. This lets format, glass effect and linework be judged as a connected design.

05

Preparing made-to-measure doors carefully

Our sliding doors are available made to measure. For a reliable product selection, provide the project-specific width and height in millimetres. Make it clear what each measurement refers to. The profile dimensions given earlier for the outer frame and door leaf do not replace order dimensions; they describe individual components. Keeping these details separate prevents misunderstandings when preparing your enquiry.

For renovations, capture the full situation of the intended opening before making final material and design choices. In a new build, information should match the current planning stage. If dimensions change during the project, use only the confirmed version for your enquiry. Record measurements with their units and avoid rounded estimates. This connects the required made-to-measure door clearly with the remaining product choices.

Also consider the sliding door within the complete wall or façade elevation. Positions of neighbouring windows, sidelights, fixed glazing and other doors can influence which linework is visually convincing. A simple drawing with element names and dimensions can reveal recurring heights or glazing-bar lines. Such graphic notes are for visual coordination and should remain clearly separate from the actual product specifications.

Include the sideways movement of the leaf in your use plan. Use the floor plan to check how the access will work every day and how adjoining zones will be arranged. Consider circulation, furniture and the position of other elements. Reviewing the operating sequence early makes it easier to assess dimensions, handle choice and sliding-door position together.

Two-frame sliding door with glazing-bar design

06

Combining colour, handle and material

Alongside made-to-measure dimensions, colour and handle choices are available. These options allow the sliding door to match an existing or newly developed design scheme. Start with the fundamental choice between pine and oak and whether aluminium cladding is wanted. Colour and handle can then be assessed more precisely, as both details always appear in relation to the frame material and large glazed area.

For a calm overall appearance, you can match the colour to neighbouring window and door frames. A deliberate contrast can instead make the sliding door a separate architectural feature. Both approaches are possible; the important point is to choose from the colours actually offered. With aluminium cladding, remember that this is already a distinct material version and should be stated clearly in the enquiry.

The handle is a relatively small but highly visible everyday detail. Coordinate it with other visible fittings and handles in the project if a uniform appearance is wanted. Handle selection does not change the basic function: the leaf slides sideways. Instead, it offers another way to bring the operating point and visual details together within the available product options.

Glazing-bar pattern, colour and handle should not be selected in isolation. An uninterrupted two-frame version looks different from a pattern with several horizontal and vertical decorative bars, so the same frame colour may also be perceived differently. Before enquiring, make a short order of priorities: dimensions and material first, then glazing and bar pattern, followed by colour and handle. This supports a consistent selection of all design features.

07

Sliding door or an alternative door and window element

The right product type depends first on the required function. Where a door leaf must slide sideways, the sliding door described here meets that operating requirement. A related alternative is the side-sliding Siegenia sliding door. It has Siegenia fittings with high-security multipoint locking and differs in its stated door-leaf dimensions. Compare the function and options of both products directly rather than transferring features from one sliding door to another.

If an inward-opening tilt-and-turn leaf is specifically required, our single- or double-leaf patio door is another product category to consider. For an outward-opening entrance, an external door with infill is available. An internal door with infill instead has a right- or left-hinged leaf and serves a different purpose. The movement type is therefore a useful first filter before considering materials, glazing and design.

If a fixed glazed area is planned beside a door, a one-piece glazed door sidelight can be considered. It is fixed and cannot be opened. A fixed-glazed window and a round fixed-glazed window are also available for window openings; these elements cannot be opened either. They do not replace a movable door, but can be relevant comparison products in a plan with additional fixed glass areas.

Always compare related products using their own specifications. Materials, fittings, frame and leaf dimensions, and available options are not automatically identical, even where products look or function similarly. First decide whether the element should be movable or fixed and which opening type is needed. You can then select the product whose function and options suit your project.

08

Clear details for the right sliding door

For a specific enquiry, a clear list of the key choices is enough. State the required width and height in millimetres, chosen timber, whether aluminium cladding is required, 2- or 3-pane insulated glazing, and the selected two-frame glazing-bar pattern. Add your preferred colour and handle option. If several elements are planned, identify each one clearly so dimensions and specification requests are not mixed up.

A short project description is also helpful: is it a new build or renovation, which elements adjoin the sliding door, and should their design be matched or deliberately contrasted? This helps us understand your design aims. Photos or sketches can illustrate the intended view, provided all relevant dimensions and product choices are also supplied clearly in writing.

Check your information for inconsistencies before sending it. A clear material statement is particularly important because pine and oak are each available with or without aluminium cladding, and their component dimensions differ. Also check that the selected glazing-bar pattern exactly matches an offered two-frame design. The more clearly these decisions are documented, the more precisely we can respond to your product enquiry.

Our sliding doors have a five-year warranty. If you are still weighing up two available versions, tell us both options and the deciding difference, such as timber, glazing or glazing-bar pattern. We can help you navigate the available choices so your made-to-measure sliding door suits your project both functionally and visually.
