Classic aluminium greenhouse for plants, garden tools and supplies
Our greenhouse with integrated storage combines a bright growing area with a separate storage room and visible elements of natural Accoya® timber. Both areas sit beneath one roof. A separate tool shed in another location is therefore unnecessary, while garden tools remain close to the greenhouse. Use is still clearly divided: the light-filled area is reserved for plants, with tools, pots and supplies stored separately.
The Accoya timber model is available in a broad range of sizes . Choose toughened safety glass or polycarbonate glazing. The key consideration is the space you plan for crops as well as tools, pots and supplies. Before configuring, list the plants you intend to grow, the equipment you already own and the interior arrangement you want. Our guide provides a general overview of greenhouses with this layout: Aluminium greenhouse with integrated storage.

Light for plants, with a separate room for tools and supplies
The integrated storage room streamlines everyday greenhouse tasks. Pots, tools, growing media and watering equipment are available where they are needed. Sowing, pricking out, repotting and routine plant care no longer require trips to the house or a distant tool shed. Materials can be assembled before work begins, then returned to storage away from the growing area afterwards.
This leaves a continuous growing area for beds, containers and workbenches. Clear walkways make care and cleaning easier. Accessories that need neither light nor the greenhouse climate are better kept in the storage room. For temperature- or moisture-sensitive products, check their individual storage instructions to confirm that this location is suitable.

Grow plants, store garden accessories and create a coordinated garden
The storage room is built into the greenhouse structure, rather than appearing as an added cupboard. Aluminium profiles and visible Accoya timber create a unified look across both spaces. The clean-lined metal construction gains a warmer visual character from the timber’s natural grain and individual colour variations.
Integrated storage
The separate room can be planned with shelves, holders and standing space specifically for garden accessories. This keeps the glazing in the growing area free of stored items, while tools and consumables remain immediately available.
Layout tailored to real space requirements
Depending on the selected size, growing and storage space can be given different priorities. Calculate the footprint needed for each area separately and transfer it to the usable floor plan. Check that there is enough room in front of shelves and workbenches for retrieving items, repotting and passing through.
Accoya timber as a natural contrast
Natural timber creates a deliberate contrast to the aluminium profiles and smooth glazing. Coordinate the RAL colour with your home, garden setting, visible grain and the original colour of untreated Accoya timber.
Accessible exterior areas
Leave sufficient clear space around the greenhouse. This keeps glazing, gutters and exterior surfaces accessible for cleaning and maintenance, while entrances remain clear of stored objects.
Accoya: modified real wood for visible outdoor use
Accoya is made from Radiata pine and modified through acetylation to its core. This process greatly reduces the timber’s ability to absorb moisture. It remains genuine wood with natural grain and individual colour variation. Beside precise aluminium profiles, this visible material structure prevents the building from looking like a purely technical utility structure.
Lower water absorption improves dimensional stability and resistance to decay. Accoya achieves durability class 1.
Bloomcabin uses untreated Accoya so that the grain and natural colour differences remain visible. When exposed to the weather, its original colour gradually changes and may become silvery grey. Consider this natural ageing when choosing the RAL colour for aluminium profiles. Remove dirt regularly and gently, and avoid permanently damp contact points. Use cleaners, care products or coatings only where the relevant care guidance confirms they are suitable for Accoya.

Arrange both areas around typical working routines
Plan the structure as two connected spaces with distinct purposes. Start not with individual shelves or plant tables, but with future routines: open the door, take out materials, tend plants, remove waste and put equipment away. The required routes must stay clear. Doors must not strike equipment, and work surfaces should be reachable without stepping over irrigation lines, containers or floor edges.
Growing area
This zone is for crops and tasks that need daylight and the typical greenhouse climate. Position tall plants so they do not unnecessarily shade smaller crops. Workbenches should not obstruct door movement or roof-window operation. Remember that plants can grow considerably taller during the season than they were at the start.
✓ Vegetable beds and plant containers
✓ Propagation and workbenches
✓ Tomatoes, cucumbers and climbing plants
✓ Watering and repotting
Storage area
Store items here that do not require daylight. Before fitting out the room, decide which loads will stand on the floor and which items can safely go on shelves or suitable holders. Liquids need stable standing surfaces. The room is suitable for food, flammable substances or other sensitive products only where their individual storage instructions allow this.
✓ Hand tools and long-handled tools
✓ Pots, trays and labels
✓ Growing media, fertiliser and garden consumables
✓ Cushions and seasonal accessories
Sizes, heights, glazing and construction at a glance
The versions are divided into two model families. As well as external dimensions, door and ridge height matter: they determine access, the sense of space and options for taller plants, long-handled tools and your intended interior layout.
01. Size configurations
There are 20 size configurations in total. Compare the usable floor plan and possible division between growing and storage areas, not only the free space available on the property.
02. Widths
The two model families are 235 cm or 310 cm wide. In addition to the building width, allow enough clear space at the sides for assembly, cleaning and maintenance.
03. 235 cm models
The 235 cm-wide models have a ridge height of 232 cm and a door height of 165 cm. Before choosing, measure tall equipment and furnishings that must be carried through the door.
04. 310 cm models
The 310 cm-wide model family has a ridge height of 267 cm and a door height of 185 cm. Consider the greater interior volume when positioning tall crops and planning regular ventilation.
05. Glazing
Choose polycarbonate or 4 mm toughened safety glass. Glass keeps plants and the interior clearly visible. Polycarbonate changes the quality of light and provides more visual screening. Decide which transparency and light effect suit the growing and storage areas, as well as the garden setting.
06. Construction
The construction includes aluminium profiles, roof windows, an integrated gutter system and an aluminium base. Depending on the version, it has a single or double sliding door. The greenhouse is designed for wind speeds of 30 m/s and a snow load of 210 kg/m². This requires correct assembly, secure anchoring and intended use. The greenhouse carries a 12-year warranty, subject to the applicable warranty conditions.

A well-organised workspace from spring to season’s end
In spring, propagation trays, pots and growing media take priority; in summer, watering accessories and care tools; later, harvest containers and cleaning materials. Storage should support these seasonal changes. Do not reserve every area permanently for rarely used items; instead, create spaces that can be reassigned without clearing the whole room. Simple labels help replenish consumables in time and identify damaged tools.
Roof windows support air exchange and help remove excess heat and moisture from the growing area. They must remain accessible and be operated according to conditions. Pay particular attention to lingering moisture after watering. The integrated gutter system directs rainwater away from the roof. Plan drainage so water does not collect at the base, wash out paths or leave adjacent building elements damp.

Divide space sensibly for tools, pots and seasonal accessories
Arrange the room according to weight, frequency of use and cleaning needs. Before installing shelves, retain clear floor space for bulky equipment. Slim holders suit tools that could otherwise topple. Keep small items orderly in closed, clearly labelled containers, but make sure their contents are suitable for temperatures in the storage area.
Keep tools close at hand
Secateurs, gloves and small care tools are quickly accessible near the transition to the growing area. Long-handled tools need secure holders so they cannot fall and their points or blades do not extend into walkways. Remove attached soil after use and allow damp tools to dry where possible before storing them.
Pots, growing media and small items
Stack empty pots only to a height from which they can be removed safely. Store growing media and fertiliser in suitable, clearly labelled packaging or containers, following manufacturer instructions. A wipe-clean tray for labels, tying material and seed accessories keeps small parts separate from larger supplies.
Seasonal accessories
Seasonal garden accessories can be stored in the room if they are suitable for its conditions. Textiles must be completely dry before storage, and other items should be clean. The room is neither climate-controlled nor frost-proof, so sensitive products need storage that meets their own requirements.
Keep the growing area clear
A tidy growing area makes plant care, cleaning and checks easier. Leaves, plant debris and spilled growing media can be removed more quickly when tools are not in the way. When crops are accessible from several sides, diseases, pest problems or watering issues are noticed sooner.
Keep frequent items handy, heavy items near the floor
Give every frequently used tool and accessory a fixed, easily reached place. You can then see at a glance what is ready for use and what needs replenishing or cleaning. Do not use the passageway as temporary storage: objects left there interrupt routines and increase the risk of tripping.
Frequently needed items work well near the growing area and roughly between knee and shoulder height. Light, seldom-used items can go higher up. Keep heavy bags or equipment low down so they do not have to be lifted overhead. Leave adequate space in front of shelves for removal, and keep sharp fittings out of movement areas.
Shelves and wall holders use the room height, but may be fixed only to suitable components. Before drilling, confirm which parts can carry attachments. Freestanding shelving must be stable and must not obstruct the sliding door or inspection of the base, glazing and connections.
Choose size around crops, furnishings and circulation space
Begin with two requirement lists. For the growing area, note beds, plant tables, containers and the mature height of intended crops. For storage, list large equipment, supplies and the shelf lengths required. Draw both to scale on the floor plans of possible versions. This reveals whether a size fits the property but creates narrow routes or difficult corners in everyday use.
The narrower range supports compact planning and has lower height dimensions. The wider range provides more room to move and may also offer a double sliding door, depending on the version. Check garden access too: a larger door is useful only if the route in front of it is wide and level enough for the intended equipment.
Review your plan with doors open, workbenches occupied and plants at full mature size. Shelves must not cover handles or make windows difficult to operate. Also allow a clear surface for briefly setting down a pot or opening a bag without blocking the main route.

Prepare the site, foundation and drainage carefully
The growing and storage areas stand on one shared structure. The base must therefore be level, stable, square and built to the specified dimensions across the entire footprint. Even small deviations can affect the alignment of profiles, glazing and sliding doors. Before work begins, check the ground, drainage and any underground services. If in doubt, ask a qualified professional to assess the suitable foundation construction for your property.
Also plan transport from the delivery point to the assembly location. Measure gates, passages, turns and steps. At the site, provide a clean, organised area for profiles, timber components and glazing. Sensitive parts must not be walked on, dirtied or exposed to wind.
The integrated aluminium base supports assembly but does not replace a suitable foundation or secure anchoring. Assemble the greenhouse according to the supplied instructions and check diagonals, vertical alignment and level again before fitting glazing. Alterations to load-bearing or bracing components can impair the function of the whole structure. Arrange skilled assistance for tasks you cannot safely complete.

When this combination makes more sense than two separate buildings
A Classic greenhouse without integrated storage is the right choice when almost the entire footprint should be used for plants and suitable storage already exists. Tools and supplies must then be brought from that external location into daily working routines.
A separate tool shed can be sized independently of the greenhouse and placed elsewhere. However, it requires a second area, its own base and additional walking routes. The position and appearance of both buildings must also be coordinated in the garden. This can make sense where very large equipment must be stored or the two uses need complete separation.
The Accoya greenhouse with storage suits gardens where short working routes and a cohesive appearance matter more than the largest possible growing area. Typical greenhouse equipment remains on site without needing another building. Before ordering, still check whether the storage room is sufficient for your existing equipment. If it is too small, items may later end up in the growing area again.
Frequently asked planning and use questions
How do I plan the right layout?
Draw beds, workbenches, shelves, equipment and clear routes into the floor plan. Choose the version in which both spaces work without blocking doors, windows or walkways.
What is the integrated storage room for?
It is intended for suitable garden tools, pots, plant accessories and consumables that should be kept separately from the bright growing area. Whether a particular product may be stored there depends on its individual storage instructions.
Why is Accoya timber used?
Accoya combines the natural grain of real wood with high dimensional stability. The acetylated Radiata pine absorbs less moisture and is therefore more resistant to moisture-related decay.
How do I care for untreated Accoya timber?
Remove dirt regularly using gentle aids suitable for Accoya and avoid permanently damp contact points. If considering a coating, follow the applicable care instructions. A possible silvery-grey colour change is part of the natural weathering of untreated timber.
How do glass and polycarbonate differ?
Toughened safety glass gives a clear view of plants and the interior. Polycarbonate creates a different light effect and provides more visual screening. Choose glazing according to how transparent you want the growing and storage areas to appear.
How should I use the roof windows?
Open and close the roof windows according to temperature, sunshine and moisture in the greenhouse. They must remain freely accessible. Monitor the interior climate regularly, as ventilation needs change through the season.
Can I attach shelves and holders to the construction?
Only to components suitable for this purpose. Confirm permitted fixing points before drilling. Freestanding shelves must be stable and must not conceal sliding doors, glazing, the base or connections.
Where can I find care and ordering guidance?
Guidance on gentle cleaning and checking glazing, profiles, sliding doors, roof windows, gutters and visible connections is available on the Useful information page; the ordering process is explained on the Ordering page.
